“Amazing meatballs”
Reviewed 10 October 2013 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

My husband and I go to Smorgas every month or two when we get Swedish meatball cravings - and boy does it satisfy us! We went to Sweden last year and afterwards were looking for good meatballs in New York and we found them at Smorgas. They give you a healthy portion, and come with delicious potatoes and lingonberry sauce which adds a nice tang. We go home happy every time.

“Designed for an enjoyable evening”
Reviewed 26 September 2013

Interesting menu. We had herring starters, mussels and cod. Great decor, with an intimate setting- lucky to get a table window. Some close by restaurants were really noisy. Service was very good, patient, responsive. Recommend for a comfortable evening with good food.

“Excellent in every way!”
Reviewed 20 September 2013 via mobile

Delicious food, a lot of ingredients are grown at their own farm which is awsome. Really cozy athmosphere, waiting staff provided outstanding service. A great experience! Also, prices were totally reasonable. Recommended!

“Very nice Scandinavian restaurant in the Village”
Reviewed 22 August 2013

We fell upon the West Village branch of this Scandinavian 3-branch chain by accident. Looking for somewhere small in the Village to make the most of a pleasant NY summer evening outside, we spied a spare table with just a cursory glance at the menu. What a pleasant surprise! Imaginative Scandinavian cuisine, very friendly service and a nice location. Definitely recommended.

“Delicious, with a great presentation”
Reviewed 3 July 2013

As a vegetarian, I don't always have a lot of choices on the menu. But at Smorgas Chef I had a chilled cucumber soup and a delicious carmelized cauliflower with barley and egg. Yum! Desserts were also excellent
