“Simple bento sets”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

The bento sets here are of great value and quality. It is suitable for a quick bite. Especially crowded during lunch hours, but worth the wait.

“Everyday when in NYC”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

I love this little japanese cafe. Whenever I come to visit NYC, i try to go by as often as I can. I always get a salmon onigiri and black seasme frappe. Their bakery stuff isn't as impressive, but I still wish I could live near this place.

“Underwhelming”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

Cafe Zaiya sits at the top of the Kinokuya Bookstore in the Bryant Park area. It's got Interesting eats, but is in need of more variety.

The desserts and cakes are a little underwhelming. The ready-to-go bento boxes and the packaged onigiri, however, do bring a little spice to the store. It also seems like there are more patrons and seating available.

“If you Miss Japanese Food...”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

This is conveniently located Japanese deli.
You can get from Japanese Bento box to sandwiches,so on...
they are all freshly made every day.
The only bad thing is the store is tooo crowded around lunch time from midtown workers, who rushing to get their lunch as soon as possible.

I recommend their sweets,too.
Especially I like their Dorayaki(sweet red bean paste sandwich cake)
