I wanted to check rates for a 5 night stay with Booking.com last April and by mistake I clicked the send buttom. I immediately realized that by doing that I had just reserved one night and after two minutes (everything is recorded, so I'm not kidding) I canceled the reservation. I received a confirmation from Booking saying the cancellation had been accepted. Unfortunately the hotel decided to apply the no refund cancellation policy charging my credit card for € 170 and something. Booking was so kind to contact the hotel and explain the whole situation. No way. I did the same. No way. So be careful when you click the hotel button ...

Visited NYC many times and this is our go-to hotel. Great location, friendly staff and not too big. Pleasant rooms equipped with hair driers and irons. I've stayed in others in NYC but this is my favourite by far. The location is superb, slap bang on Broadway and 31st...

Cab in and walk back when the weather is good. Right off 5th Ave- Great location for this trip.
Hotel is a hidden gem. We had a triple room- 3 twins, very clean, beds comfy. Free coffee and muffins in the AM. Ayza Wine and Chocolate Bar across the street delicious and reasonable, and Bread & Butter a store steps away across 5th has everything you could want or need to eat for every diet and palate imaginable for those on any budget. Staff friendly. Tiny bathroom but plenty of room for toiletries on the tile window sill. Would I stay here when in Manhattan again? Absolutely

Room Tip: No pool---

So you already know, a Hampton Inn-sized room you can get in the heartland for less than $100 a night will cost you a down payment on a car for 2-3 night stay in many Manhattan hotels. Given the reviews, we took a chance on the Wolcott, and we were quite pleased. A short walk from Penn Station, the Wolcott was a great place to park our bags, go about and explore the city, and come back and get a good night's sleep. Our room was small with few amenities, but it was clean. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom fixtures all worked, the towels were soft, and there was a large-screen TV as well as a safe for valuables. Few outlets to plug in a laptop or phone charger. The complimentary breakfast coffee and blueberry muffin were quite good. The view from our room looked down on a tight and dingy shaftway. Possibly depressing to some guests, but a nice touch for fans of film noir or murder-mystery and spy novels.

If you plan to spend a lot of time in your room, you may want to consider booking a room in a fancier hotel at twice or three times the cost. For anyone with a busy schedule in the city who needs a room for 1-2 nights to come back to after dinner, at under $200/night (plus tax) we feel we lucked out and recommend the Wolcott

Room Tip: Back of the hotel, 11th floor was very quiet on a Saturday.

This hotel is updated enough to have most modern amenities (except a coffeemaker in the room, but they serve coffee/tea/muffins in the lobby each morning) and still have the character of an older establishment: in the shadow of the Empire State Building, grand lobby, suite-like rooms. It is better suited for the leisure traveler, as WiFi is not free.

Best location, very close no Macy's and 10 minutes away from Times square, and Empire state could be seen from the windows. But one thing was not very good - its smell inside the hotel, I think it because of the rubbish.

Room Tip: Best choice is room with windows not on the street to avoid noise, but still air conditioning is ver...

3 girls travelling together can be hard to find a triple bed in USA. Wolcott did this and more. Very comfortable, great laundry, great location, good muffins and coffee for breakfast. Rooms spacious, so lots of room for three girls to shower, dress and do hair. Very welcoming staff, and helpful concierge. Very close to shopping, Maceys, Drugstore, trains, and places to eat.
