“Fabulous Stay !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 January 2014

Stayed at The Kimberly from 8th January 2014 for 6 days. Arrived a little early but our room was available straight away. We had booked a Deluxe Room and was upgraded to an Executive Room which was really lovely. Very spacious room with Super King size bed. Lovely bathroom with separate toilet, shower room and double sink. This hotel is within easy walking distance of 5th Avenue, Time Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Centre, Empire State Building, Broadway, Macy's, Bloomingdales, Saks, Tiffany's etc. We walked to all those usual spots with no problem at all, and I'm not a great walker! So don't feel you need to stay in Time Square to see everything easily! The doormen were very friendly and helpful as well as all the concierges we met. Wi--fi isn't free in the room but you can use it down in the lobby for no charge which is ok if you just want to log on quickly. The hotel is under renovation, and it looks like they are extending - most definitely in the lobby area. This honestly didn't cause us any problems. There is scaffolding up at the front of the hotel, but to be honest, everywhere you go in NYC there is scaffolding up. Ok, it doesn't make the front look entirely inviting, but there are no problems inside at all. Believe me, scaffolding really is everywhere in NYC.

We went to Upstairs at the Kimberly on two occasions, once on the Friday night, after attending a Broadway show. It was quite busy, but we did still get a table to sit at. It was quite "hot and happening" and perhaps a tiny bit too clubby for us. We stayed for one drink and then went downstairs to the restaurant attached to the hotel called Noir. Nothing wrong with Upstairs, it was just a little two busy for us 40 year olds on this occasion! We went again on Sunday night and it was a lot quieter and we sat at a table looking out over the fabulous views. Really nice bar so would definitely recommend it.

Noir is the restaurant next door, but you can access it from the hotel lobby. We had evening drinks there and we also stayed for a meal as we liked it. It is a really lovely restaurant, with lovely staff and great food. Great Skirt Steak which my husband couldn't even finish as it was so large. Definitely worth the money and the hotel gave us a voucher for 20% off which was even better.

Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel, ignore any review that tell you otherwise. I was extremely happy with our room and the service we received and would definitely stay there again for business or pleasure.

I have just spent 10 days at the Kimberly with my sister and daughter. We took a junior suite which suited us perfectly. The hotel is well located for sightseeing and, most importantly our room, while having no view, was absolutely quiet at night.

The staff were, on the whole, helpful although they did persist in turning the couch into a bed during the day which meant we had to fold it up again in the evenings when we came in. We did ask them not to but this didn't seem to get through.

The bar/restaurant on the top floor served the most delicious small plates - perfect for ladies who didn't want to go out in the weather. The lamb chops were a particular favourite.

Checkout was quick and the doormen were always helpful.

Room Tip: We stayed in 15E which is at the end of the corridor and overlooks an apartment block over the way b...

Despite the rain in New York on a mid January day, our stay at The Kimberly Hotel in midtown Manhattan was wonderful! Although we were there for a business function that night, it felt like a vacation. This award winning hotel feels like coming home. The entire staff is smiling and welcoming and the boutique property is lovely.

Each unit is different with imported furniture and is beautifully appointed. We were in a Luxury One Bedroom and we could have stayed for a month. A large living area with a sleeper sofa, desk, flat screen TV, small dining table and a full kitchenette was so comfortable. Although the bathroom is small (it IS Manhattan), the towels were extra large and there it was stocked with all the amenities you would need including ear plugs and the like. Our bedroom had two double beds that had feather comforters under the covers and we slept so well. We were on the 18th floor and facing an alley of some kind which for a view was not good but it helped to keep the noise down.

At the Penthouse level there is Upstairs. Complimentary coffee and cookies and a fabulous breakfast buffet including an omelet station and delicious cappuccino. At night it's a great bar with a wonderful view of the Chrysler Building and during the better weather it opens up and there is outdoor seating. We enjoyed our glass of wine there even with the rain on the glass roof! I want to go back when the weather warms up!

They are building a new restaurant off the lobby which will be Italian and also open for lunch. Do watch for that opening soon and enjoy the amazing fish tank!

There is a gym on the 2nd floor but they offer guest memberships to the New York Sport Club and there are two within walking distance with pools and wonderful classes and equipment. For a longer stay in the city we would have taken advantage of that great feature.

Upon checkin we asked about a place for lunch and were given a letter offering 2 complimentary drinks with lunch or dinner and 20% off at Noir next door. For such a great offer our expectations were not high but we did enjoy a delicious lunch and great glasses of wine. I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner or lunch or a late night drink. Very friendly and welcoming.

I would recommend the Kimberly for the location, amenities, service and the lovely rooms. It works for families, couples, business stays and girls getaways!

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor to reduce noise.

This fantastic luxury boutique hotel is perfect for anyone on a New York business trip or if a tourist. It’s a great Midtown location and close proximity to whatever you may want to do. The hotel is safe, clean and very comfortable. The rooms are much larger than typical New York Hotels with comfy beds and high quality linens. I had a beautiful suite with nice furniture and plenty of amenities. I highly recommend this hotel.

2nd time stay in this hotel and I absolutely love it. Great value for the money. The one suit bedroom is so great, can sleep up to 4 people in it. It's located right around the corner from Waldorf Astoria & The Rockefeller Center, 10 mins walk from Times square and Central Park

We have been coming to New York annually 8 years during the Holidays. We try to stay at different hotels just to get a taste of the different styles. Our family stayed at The Kimberly last year 2012, We were so impressed with the large rooms and everything else the hotel had to offer we stayed at The Kimberly again just recently in 2013 for 4 nights. We stayed in one of the Executive Rooms which was even larger. I just have to say we will be staying at the Kimberly again in 2014 again.
