“Great place to end up after traveling all over Europe!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2012

My husband an I cruised the Med in August 2012, and after so many different cities and so many crowds (mostly in Venice, our last stop), it was very refreshing to end up at the Elysee, which was recommended by a friend.
The staff made us feel welcome, and our room was quite larger than expected for New York. The lobby, halls are reminiscing of London, the staff is attentive and very polite and also friendly. The breakfasts are fabulous! Good coffee and awesome (and fresh) pastries. Best 4 days in New York ever!

Room Tip: Trash pick-up starts at 6am - so ask for a room not facing the street if you are a light sleeper!

After a great deal of research we determined one of the Library boutique hotels would work for our anniversary trip. The Elysee was the only one available and we were fortunate that it was. The location is excellent, the room and property are great and the staff is amazing. My wife is extremely picky about hotels, cleanliness, and amenities and she loved this one.

The hotel honored our room request (high floor street facing) we stayed in room 152 which was very good size. The furniture could be arranged differently to take better advantage of the space.

The hotel was completely full before and after hurricane Sandy hit. We had to extend our stay three nights as flights were being cancelled and they honored the lowest daily daily rate for us, even though there was pent up demand for hotel space due to lack of electricity in many neighborhoods.

I strongly recommend the Elysee for the location, staff, and amenities for a romantic stay in Manhattan. Easy walk to the theaters, central park, and subway system.

Room Tip: We had a street facing view on the 15th floor. You can hear street noise, this is the city, I don...

This is the first time I stayed at Hotel Elysee (October, 2012): the price was right and I needed a Midtown Hotel. It turned out to be one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had in New York. Incredibly good staff: friendly and well-informed. Cleaning staff were also quite good. The free continental breakfast is a few steps up form is usually served as a continental breakfast. A special feature is the Club Room which serves, at no charge, coffee and rolls all day, and then brings out very good cheeses late in the afternoon.
The room was quite decent in terms of size, cleanliness, and comfort.
I recommend this hotel without any hesitation.

A superb hotel for those who want pampering! We arrived on time but our reservation was not yet ready and the friendly, courteous desk immediately took it upon themselves to upgrade us to a much better suite that was ready to avoid any inconvenient waiting. The comfortable suite and the included amenities make it extremely difficult to leave the suite for meetings or shopping. Unlike so many others who nickle-and-dime guests to death, Wifi and breakfast are included, as is a wine and cheese service in the afternoon. All the staff are diligent, polite, attentive; we were especially pleased by the servers at breakfast whose warmth and attention made us so much more comfortable. One minor regret is the lack of a hand rail in the tub for safety (and more hooks in the bathroom). A highly recommended home away from home!

My husband and I stayed her for the weekend and had a wonderful time. We were stressed and needed an escape. The Hotel Elysee and the staff made us feel very welcome and relaxed.
The staff is very friendly and helpfull with any needs. From sending ice to the room, to more cookies for my husband. There is a great breakfast and complimentarty snacks served daily. The lounge area is perfect with wine and cheese served during weekdays. How awesome is that? Why yes, have some more Prosecco! :) What a great added treat to a fabulous hotel .
The rooms are comfortable and large. You know you are in a good hotel in NYC when you rather stay in , than go out! One thing is you must get a suite. It makes the stay much more relaxed and special. I think hotel has spoiled me.
This will be my hotel of choice when visiting NYC. I wish I could go every weekend!

Room Tip: Get a suite! They are priced well and very large and it really makes it all the more special.

Hotel was great, just the right size, and the location was perfect, close to everything, but not of the really busy area around Times Square. The staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful, at all times. The complimentary drinks and hor d'oeuvres that they served between 5 and 8pm Monday to Friday, were great......I've never seen a hotel do that before. The set up of the breakfast room was great ..... informal and friendly, again, staff were fantastic. Quality of the continental breakfast was very very good.....wonderful selection, and great fruit!
I would have preferred to have coffee and tea making facilities in the room, but they were
available all day from the breakfast area. Room was a good size, a little noisy overnight, but that's NY I guess. Air conditioner was very loud, but we got used to it, and overnight it drowned out some of the outside noises!

Just a wonderful, wonderful charming old-world boutique hotel. Booked a one-night stay for my mom and I as we were up in the city to see Dr Oz. I was seeking a boutique hotel with that something extra, and preferably something not cold and modern. Got everything I wanted for and more with this hotel! So charming! The bedroom was adorable, high ceilings, big beautiful drapes, lovely marble bathroom! Bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows! Asked for a room at the back, only a few floors up, and it was very quiet. Love love loved the lounge area, so pretty and with a good view of the city, and the 24/7 tea and coffee. That tea saved me on that trip! The cocktail hour was very enjoyable, good mix of people, all very mellow and relaxed. The painted elevator doors on each floor were such a charming touch. The staff and the entire atmosphere of the hotel makes you feel like you are in on a private little secret within the city...old world charm and gentility abounds. All hotels should be as wonderful as the Hotel Elysee!!

This is our new favorite hotel in NYC, and my mom was raving to all her friends about what a perfect little place I had found! We will be back!

Room Tip: Back of the hotel is quieter, lower level of room will help cut down on long elevator waits.
