As you can read elsewhere, great location - one thing not mentioned is that it's only 4 mins from nearest subway (St Columbus Circle) which opens up all NY with a straight line to South Pier - should you want to spend your time in a queue for a ferry to the statue - better to just get out and stroll - Museum of the American Indian is 1 min from South Pier stop, Wall Street 4, the original Manhattan is 3 and many other attractions within 15 mins walk. By the way, after genuflecting at the temples of Mammon, be sure and visit the exquisite church at the end of Wall Street, next to the Stock Exchange.
The hotel room was very clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped with a fridge, microwave and a coffee percolator plus ground coffee supplied. The bell-hop (?) helpfully pointed out a 24 hour supermarket just across the road, which sold good, fresh food should you want to eat in. Continental breakfast at $10 flat for all you could eat and drink was good value.
The only negatives were the somewhat tired electrics and the middle-aged male receptionists (what is it with middle-aged male receptionists in any country - they don't seem to like customers) otherwise the female receptionists and the bell-hops (is that what they're called?) were friendly and helpful. It was no problem to store my bag for free all day on my departure date.
