“Awesome location...great staff”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

We stay here every year for our three day NYC trip. We are always in a suite with two rooms and two bathrooms. Older building, but you expect that in NYC. Rooms are always clean. We don't sleep a lot while here, but the beds are comfy once we do fall into them. Breakfast has a good selection. Staff is awesome! One year we went and the elevator was out...they made sure everyone had the help they needed. We will always stay here for our trips.

My husband and myself and 2 teenage girls have just spent 5 night in Salisbury hotel july 14 to 19.
Our suite was very spacious. We used the nearby supermarket, deli and starbucks for great quality take out food and free wifi.I would readily recommend this hotel to family and friends for excellent accommodation and access to all you could wish for on a family visit to NYC.

I stayed in Salisbury Hotel for a week and we got their suites for the same money as a small ordinary hotel room in any other hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Very spacious and with great service. Very good sleep quality. I will absolutely stay there again for my next visit to New York.

Check in was very good, and the 2 room suite was spacious. When we opened the sofa bed for my grand daughter to sleep on the mattress was awful and the sofabed spring was broken.

I did call and they sent up a rollaway bed complete with bedding and my grand daughter slept well on that. She is 16.

The location was amazing 1 1/2 blocks from central park, 1 1/2 blocks from hop on hop off. The bellman Paul was very sweet and friendly. As usual there was only 1 elevator working so today it took about 10-15 minutes from the 6th floor to get to the lobby. You had to pay for internet, and breakfast ( which for the price should have been included.)

This hotel is old but lots of outlets for charging devices.

Overall average would be what I would rate the hotel.

Room Tip: They do have rooms but if you are a family get the 2 room suite.

We were back in The Salisbury after some years ago. This time we chose a suite. Well worth it if you can get a suite. We were in room 718 which is at the back of the hotel. Not a good view but so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Both rooms, the bedroom and the lounge/dining room were very spacious and more walk in cupboards that you would ever likely to need.
Good bathroom and very hot water all the time. Plenty of towels. Bed linen clean and white.
The small kitchenette was useful, plus a coffee machine but we had to go across to the supermarket opposite to get some cardboard cups, plates and plastic spoons to make a drink as none are provided. We did get some cups when we asked for them but nothing else. 2 large TV's, one in each room if you want a rest between exploring the city.
Breakfast was $10 per person and there was just about everything and anything with very friendly girls and guys if you needed help.
It was inconvenient the hotel does not have internet connections but Starbucks over the road provides it.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Although my daughter emailed them to have some flowers sent to my room while we were there but they took so long to answer her email it was too late!

The location is superb. Opposite the hotel is Starbucks, a large supermarket and The Brooklyn Diner all of which are useful.
Five minutes from Central Park. 10 mins to Times Square.
I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are very quiet, but if you want a view it won't be there.

The Salisbury Hotel is a charming, older hotel located a couple of blocks from Central Park, very close to 5th Avenue and a short walk to all the main attractions including Broadway shows. We stayed in a one bedroom suite complete with mini kitchen and lounge area and loved the fact that the rooms were big and spacious. Although old, the bathroom was clean with good water pressure and temperature. The staff were friendly and helpful even when there was only one lift working and fellow visitors were getting frustrated. The only drawback that we experienced was the lack of free Wifi.

Room Tip: The one bedroom suites are large and spacious.

Bit old fashioned but that's what we like big spacious rooms and breakfast was 5 dollars central to most things. Didn't really talk to the staff much. There are many shops nearby. Only used as a Base to sleep in and spent most of the days out.
