We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of May. The Hotel is in a great location and the staff are polite and welcoming.
We arrived at the hotel 1.5 hours early and our room wasn't ready so Gautam upgraded us to a Queen sized room. We were in room 503 which was at the front of the hotel. There was some noise from traffic and building work. The room was clean and a decent size, the bed was very comfortable. There was a small closet with adequate hanging space. There was an iron, ironing board, hair dryer and small bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the room. There wasn't any coffee making facilities in the room but there was a nice deli next door, Subway across the road and Evergreen diner (very nice) 50 yards away.
The staff were very helpful, they gave us a ticket for the Empire State Building so we could bypass some of the queue and booked our taxi to the airport.
The wifi in the room isn't free but it is in the lobby.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and if I am ever lucky enough to visit New York again I will definitely stay there.

My wife and I stayed for six nights in this hotel in May 2014 and paid on average $230 per night including taxes. It is worth noting that the price you get on hotel search websites usually does not include local taxes. The hotel is just about as close as you can get to being on Times Square with all its hustle and bustle and of course the lights. Two minutes walk is no exaggeration. Just down the street one minute walk away is the Evergreen restaurant where you can have a super breakfast and just opposite is an Irish bar where you can get drinks at reasonable prices. Restaurants of all types and qualities abound within just a few minutes walk. So, a great location to start with.

Inside, the lobby is modern and has a tropical fish display that stretches from floor to around 2.5 metres high displaying all kinds of colourful fish. The seating area is made to look deceptively large with the use of mirrors. There is comfortable seating and free wi-fi access. This is worth noting because you will pay nearly $10 a day for wi-fi in your room. Two lifts serve the upper floors.

The hotel has a bar and restaurant but we didn’t try these during our six night stay. The service at reception is generally speaking OK but concierge advice is limited and not always available. We asked for advice on a seafood restaurant one evening and basically it boiled down to the fact that the concierge didn’t know. We found three seafood restaurants on our own within 5 minutes walk. You can get a free map of the city on request which is very helpful.

The hotel rooms are adequate though small but if you are sightseeing in New York a large room is not essential since you are only going to sleep there but please be aware that if you like lots of space you are going to be disappointed here. The double bed in our room was the smallest ‘double’ I have ever seen in a hotel room although it was very comfortable. Having said that, this is fairly typical of hotels in this category unless you want to pay mega bucks for a Sheraton or Marriot type hotel. The rooms have large tv, limited storage space behind a curtain and a shower and toilet in which you couldn’t swing the proverbial cat! That being said the shower is fine, plenty of fresh towels each day and generally well cleaned. Our wash hand basin was cracked which wasn’t great but no big deal. There is a safe with combination lock but it is not secured to anything and I found it easy to just pick up, so no great security there. The room was air conditioned which worked well.

Overall, if you want a hotel right on Times Square and close to all the action, this is great, but rooms are small. Concierge advice is limited and not fully staffed.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Great location and we were in room 509 which was around the back with no view , but also no noise from time square.
Rooms were very small but comfortable adequate for our stay as did lots of sightseeing and didn't need room for leisure only sleeping. Disappointed that had no tea coffee making facilities.
Rooms clean, warm and the rooms were warm too.
Bar downstairs was very expensive compared to the local bars.
Reception staff very helpful, on tourist advice and booking our taxi to airport..
I would stay again as it was so close to all the attractions.

Room Tip: Perfect if u just want a room to sleep in and close to all attractions and our room was ideal too

You can't beat the location if you want to be near Time Square or in the middle of mid-town. The lobby was modern, although a bit on the dim side, and the staff was friendly. Really cool column fish tanks. But the elevator is slow, as others have commented. The room was very square, with a desk on one end, the bed on the other, and just a wide unused space in between. There were no closets, so there was a short rack with hangers and ironing board next to the bed. There was a nice Bose clock radio which was already on and playing music.

The bed was comfortable, and plenty of pillows. The bathroom was a little tight to get around the door, and the short shelf above the sink was slightly tilted forward, so a few toiletries slid into the sink. There were more than enough towels. Slight issue with a very slow drain, where I got probably an inch of water built up by the end of my shower. Dated shower head (the old Speakman kind), but there was a modern shower handle with temperature in degrees F, which was great.

Overall, it was a good place to stay at for being within walking distance to my client's office. And it would be a great place for travelers to call home base, being in the heart of Time Square.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor with an unobstructed view.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel. Only because of its location (30 meters from Times Square) and excellent crew members I gave to this place 4 out of 5 stars. What was not in line with 4 stars?: 2 very slow and small lifts; that you sometimes had to wait several long minutes; lack of free internet in the rooms; very narrow corridors; and tiny standard room. On the top I could hear the neighbours taking shower or moving on the corridor. The bed was ok, so after sightseeing of the city it was ok to sleep there. When you decide to go there and you have already plan for the city, do not forget to ask the crew about main attractions (e.g. Empire State Building), because you might be surprised with VIP cards or vouchers. The same about the airport transfer that goes “door-to-door” I may say.
The hotel was expensive, but I believe that it was rather question of location and NYC itself than particular high price of this hotel. When visiting NYC again I don’t exclude to come back.

The location of the hotel is really perfect. It is very near to Times Square Manhattan! This is all what is good in this hotel. It is too expensive, ok maybe because of location. But, the rooms are not clean, i.e. very old. The bathroom not completely clean. It is just not 4 stars hotel.
The internet in the room costs additionally. The reception is nice and new...
