Excellent location in the "Village", rooms clean, staff friendly, very adequate continental breakfast, but rooms very small with one straight backed chair. High scale restaurant on site, also fitness room available.Premium pricing.

Room Tip: In the midst of the "Village", but don't plan to stay in your room.

Stayed at WSH for three nights in the heat of summer. Our room was clean, reasonably sized (for NYC) and air conditioned and was a great respite from the bustling city heat. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little dated but it does add to its charm. It's just a perfect little base from which you can explore the city. The location is fantastic too with plenty of amazing restaurants on the door step. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will stay again.

Stayed two nights to visit a grandson at NYU... wonderful location, very close to a subway stop, NYU, Washington Square and Soho shopping. Room was smallish but perfectly adequate; beds and linens were uber comfortable. Staff was top notch; North Square restaurant in the hotel is fabulous.

Greenwich area is a nice area in NY City. NY University surrounds the area along with beautiful Washington Park. We arrived earlier then we thought to spend Veterans weekend there. The staff were sooo cordial and helpful. They took our suitcases and have a locked area and hand you a check stub to retrieve them. This hotel comes with a "free" breakfast ....yes free!! They told us after we give them our suitcases to just proceed downstairs and have a nice breakfast on them. We had not even checked in yet! Downstairs you turn right and go to the right to the sit and feed yourself side (no waiters); or if you go to the left you enter the (waiter) side. Both offer the same items ie; bagels, muffins, scones, etc. and a bowl of fruit, cereals and coffee and tea.
The waiter side also has an add on menu so you can order other breakfast items if wanted. Again, the waiters were efficient and the wait for not long.
We checked into our room late in the afternoon, and the room (like most budget friendly hotels) was small but had a nice queen side bed. The bathroom was surely showing its age but the shower was fantastic. Free Wi- Fi and a Keurig machine really helped. The bedding was very soft and the room was very clean. They have a bar and have specials and entertainment on some evenings. I usually use my room to sleep and do not spend all day in it and this hotel fit the bill. Check out the large wall mural as you enter and see if you remember any of the stars in their heydays. Located between 5th and 6th ave make this location great. Sooo many nice shops and restaurants are within a 5 or 10 min walk. Subway is just down the street also, and cabs continuously come down Washington St.

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms have access to the beautiful stairway down to the lobby if elevators are slow.

Just returned from a recent stay at this great art deco, family run hotel in the West Village.
You can't beat the location; and it was as charming and comfortable as my first stay there
4 yrs. ago. The breakfast, included in the rate, is the best I've seen-not just rolls and coffee,
but cereal; fruit; bagels, pastries; and you can order extras if you like_eggs, etc for a small fee. And, they even have gluten free bread, which was a real plus for me!
Staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. An excellent restaurant is on the premises as well.
Rooms are small, but cozy and comfortable. It does not have every amenity of the fancy
hotels, but feels like home. And the rates are reasonable. I love it there.

Room Tip: If you want light and a view that is not a wall, ask for exterior room. If you want a quieter exper...

I liked the location of the hotel, the fact that you could get food without leaving the hotel. Rooms were quiet, comfortable, good shower pressure, plenty of hot water. A quiet a/c machine. Loved it

Staff were very helpful, pleasant and made sure we were well taken care of. The design of the hotel is great! Really interesting and a gem in a great location - walking distance from Soho, Meatpacking etc
