My husband and I enjoyed a long overdue weekend away in NYC in early fall 2009. We found the Iroquois to be a romantic, elegant, convenient hotel with excellent service and a fabulous concierge. The Iroquois' concierge, Nick, was knowledgeable and resourceful with impeccable taste, without seeming pretentious. When we found ourselves without dinner reservations for Saturday night, Nick asked a few questions about our tastes (we're foodies) and the type of night we were looking to have (romantic) and quickly recommended Oceana on 49th & 6th. Nick confirmed a reservation for us on the spot and had a reminder card with restaurant details sent to our room. Oceana was the perfect choice for us (separate review under Restaurants to come). With Nick's help, we had a wonderful dining experience. I would highly recommend the Iroquois for a weekend getaway, and may you be fortunate to find Nick at the helm during your visit.

Stayed overnight. Room was small but well appointed. Bed was extremely comfortable.
Small hotel with all amenities you need. i.e. fitness center, restaurant. Located on great street in NYC. and within walking distance of many sights yet far enough away from the crowds and noise.

We spent six nights at the Iroquois and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.
As arranged a car was there to meet us at Newark Airport even although our flight was delayed. All members of staff we encountered during our stay were professional and helpful. Our (superior) room was well appointed and most comfortable. We enjoyed dining in Triomphe - a high standard of cuisine and a high level of service.
To top it all, the location is ideal for visitors to New York.

My boyfriend and I came to New York in September from Maui (the mecca for lavish holidays) and looked and looked for a decently priced place to stay. While this was at the top of our range, it was so worth it. The hotel is upscale, classy and decorated with classic furnishings. The staff was incredibly attentive from the beginning, from the doorway to the rooms. Our second night we had an unexpected visitor from out of town and we asked for a roll-away bed in our room. Instead, they upgraded us to the James Dean Suite and promptly had our luggage delivered. Bill, the bellman, was very sweet and helpful, offering wonderful local knowledge about restaurants, hot spots and personal memories of growing up in New York. Caroline, one of the front desk attendants, promptly helped us with our many needs in a polite and efficient manner. I called downstairs to get band-aids (because I had to wear my pretty shoes - I was in NYC!) and they were at the door before we could even wonder when they were coming. In a nutshell, this is a wonderful hotel, very worth the price. The rooms are very clean, very comfortable (most of the rooms have been retro-fitted to be noise-proof to help with NYC street noise), and the staff was just wonderful. We would highly recommend this hotel to any dear friends and family. Its a perfect location for hitting all the tourist spots in midtown. Cheers to the Iroquois!

With much aloha!, Sarah and Timothy

The location is just perfect. As is typical of NYC hotels, some rooms are a little small but all are very clean and well maintained with great amenities. Ask for a room with new windows (noise reducing windows!). There is a a great gym too. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Coming back to the Iroquois after a day of sightseeing in NYC was like coming home: Comfy, cozy and very welcoming. We will definately stay here again and have already recommended it to a friend visiting NYC later this year. You won't be disappointed.

All the reviews say it, but just to reiterate the location of this hotel is fantastic. Nestled between 5th and 6th Avenue, all the city has to offer is a short step away but without the hustle and bustle of Times Square. Room was surprisingly spacious, zero outside noise, (the view of the fire escape was uninspiring but you don't go to NY to look out of a window) , chocolates on the pillow were a nice touch. Bed's were like sleeping on clouds and power shower wakes you up in the morning. Would definitely stay again with family or friends and have already recommended it.
