“Great value for money!”
Reviewed 1 February 2007

We have just returned from 3 nights at the Iroquois Hotel. This is our fourth trip to New York in 6 months and we found this to be the best hotel we’ve stayed at so far. The location is great - near shopping, the museum mile, theatres (Broadway), New York Library and Central Park. In the same block you also have two banks and opposite the hotel a parking garage.

The rooms are cozy and attention has been paid to detail. The beds are soft and all rooms have wireless. It took a minute to figure out the shower, but the bathroom with Molten Brown products is clean and well proportioned.

The staff was more than helpful, providing information on restaurants (and helping with bookings). I would go back here in a heartbeat!

We paid $239 per night for a room with a queen size bed – booked it via the internet. The only thing we found odd is that when our friends tried to book a similar room over the phone – they were given a more expensive room option – no mention of the $239 per night. Our friends phoned back to tell them that they were aware of a room with a queen size bed for $239, and were able to change their booking.

Just arrived back from a weekend in New York with my Mum.
The Hotel Iroquois is in a fantastic location 4 mins walk from Times Square allowing you to walk to many destinations easily!.

The hotel staff were pleasant & friendly & we appreciated the nice little touches such as a card with the weather forecast for the next day left on the pillow, chocolates and the turn down service.
We had a classic twin & the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in! The room was very clean & tastefully decorated with a wonderful flat screen TV. After a tiring day it was like coming back to a home from home.
The free internet access in the library & the wonderful coffee in reception in the morning were a plus.

We had a fantastic time & I would definitely stay at The Iroquois next time I am in New York.

My husband and I stayed at the Iroquois hotel this past weekend for one night. It was a lovely experience. The location of this hotel in the theater district is perfect! It’s less than two blocks from Times Square, and it’s in walking distance from most of the theatres and surrounding restaurants. A big plus, the Iroquois is located directly across from the Hippodrome parking garage. Have the hotel validate your parking ticket and you’ll pay a discounted rate. For these reasons, we will definitely stay here again when we go to another show on Broadway.

We reserved a CLASSIC room through American Express Travel. We got a much better rate compared to the hotel and other travel website rates. The room was nicely decorated, clean, yet very small. There is a large HD Flat screen television on the wall and desk in the room. For a short stay, it’s perfect. We were assigned to room 300, on the third floor. The view from the windows is towards a small alley/courtyard. Not pleasant to the eye, but it has its advantages. The room is not subject to most of the street noise. We were actually quite impressed how quiet it was. We heard a few horns hear and there, most likely from the cars that are exiting the parking garage. The hotel locked up our luggage after checkout, and held it for hours till we left the city. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful!

The only complaint I have with this room is its’ location within the hotel. It’s directly next to and across from two elevators. I also believe there is housekeeping quarters nearby. So we heard every person coming and going, as well as doors opening and closing. Since its low season, we did not find this as bothersome, but I can imagine it would be if the hotel was full. You can hear conversations right through the door loud and clear; as they can hear yours. For this reason, I could not give it the highest rating, but I would stay here again. I would recommend requesting a room further away from suites 300-303 if you are assigned to any of them.

TIP: try the diner next to the hotel for cheaper, delicious breakfast!

I just spent three nights at The Iroquois and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. The location is great and the hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. Sure, the rooms are a bit small and mine had a view of an alleyway, however, that isn't much different than most New York hotels. The sauna wasn't working well when I was there, however, the staff was attentive to the problem and got the situation worked out.

The beds are very comfortable and the flatscreen television worked well. The free WiFi helped me get over the jetlag.

I recommend the Iroquois.

I stayed at the Iroquois a couple of years ago and had a pleasant enough experience so I returned a couple months ago. Much to my delight, they had made major improvements in almost every area. New super high-quality linens, absurdly comfortable beds, high-def LCD screens, etc. etc. Anyone who has ever booked a room in NYC knows there are always two things you are forced to deal with: rooms priced at a premium and they're relatively small. So the Iroquois is not cheap but nothing in NYC is and it's really great to see they have put a lot of that money back into the hotel. And with the new TV's the room seemed twice as big. Those annoyingly huge bureaus that you see in hotel rooms are no longer there with the new TV's. All in all, a great stay with a great location.

We stayed at the Iroquois for three nights in November.
The night we arrived there was no doorman/bellman ton duty to help with luggage so we dragged our heavy cases from the car, up the steps and into hotel. The check in staff were polite but unfriendly.

I had booked a superior room and requested one with natural daylight and a view if possible. The room we were given was a rude shock!
It was tiny by any standards - absolutely not suitable for two people. We could not stand in the room together along with our luggage. As we had flown for twenty four hours from Australia we had planned to order room service for dinner. Our plans had to change - there was Nowhere to eat in the room.

A very small desk on one side of the bed doubled up as nightstand but no nightstand on the other side, I made do with the window sil to balance a glass of water on.

The Frette robes were yellowed all over and really threadbare in places, the door handle came off the bathroom door, so we had to leave that open to avoid being locked in.

There was no natural light At All in the room - the window faced a brick wall, so that, coupled with the Tiny size of the room made for a very claustraphobic experience so bad we moved room next day and paid the extra for a slightly larger room.

So disappointed with the Iroquois - we won't be staying again.

The Iroquois is in a perfect location for seeing all the sites and only a couple of minutes from Times Square.
The Iroquois has well equipped bedrooms but they are small. We booked a superior room which was very comfortable and clean and the Molton Brown toiletries were an added bonus.
The coffee served in reception each morning was a great way to start the day.
I would recommend the Iroquois although I did think it was expensive. However, we stayed during the marathon weekend and we haven't been to New York before so it's difficult to say whether there are better places to stay which are better value for money.
