Nice hotel. Near times sq and theatre district. Able to walk to most everything. Room had a sitting area and hot tub. King 1br suite. Loved keurig machine!, bought my own kcups. Hugo at FC was very nice at check in. All of the staff I saw/dealt with very nice and professional.
Continental blast is free but you have to eat in the restaurant. Basic continental breakfast. Did order from reg bfast menu as well. Strong coffee. Breakfast busy both times. Other reviews commented on service staff rude at bfast but they were ok. Elevators are small. Would definitely stay again. Heater worked very well. No trouble with housekeeping. Close to many restaurants and delis. Ice supplied by front desk. We used ice trays supplied.

Room Tip: Higher floors due to manhattan noise. We were on the eighth. Heard city noises but it is nyc. If I...

We stayed in a one-bedroom suite that was the perfect size. There was plenty of room to sleep, to sit and sip wine and plan our excursions in the city, and to still have privacy. The couch in the living room was plenty big to sleep on. The room included a kitchenette with a mini-fridge with room for our own beverages and food (something hard to find at other hotels), a microwave to heat up leftovers (saving more money for Christmas shopping), and utensils and dishes so we didn't have to wait for room service to supply us. Free wifi was an added surprise. The free buffet breakfast was a disappointment as there weren't enough tables, waitstaff, time (ended promptly at 10:30 even on the week-ends), or food variety to make it worth it to us to return the second morning. The location is a perfect base to explore Times Square, shop on 5th Avenue and to walk around Central Park. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with dinner reservations and parking suggestions. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: King suites are on the corners so worth it to upgrade. Elevators can be slow so if you're in a h...

location was excellent for proximity to times square, central park, theater district. free continental breakfast had us choose this hotel vs. the strand (which was also a nice 4 star hotel in similar location, for ~300/night including taxes). gave free wifi, although it was a bit on the slow side. rooms were well done and up to date; bathroom was very nice with great water pressure. staff were all very friendly. overall a great stay for our few day getaway in manhattan to see a few shows and walk around rockefeller center and times square.

This small hotel situated just below Central Park was our place to stay on a family holiday in New York. We have two small boys who shared our family room (two double beds). The small kitchen area was ideal for feeding them and keeping them stoked up for the day. It also helped reduce the cost of staying in the Big Apple. Location couldn't have been better. Easy access to all transit systems and walks in Central Park. The room was always clean and tidy, the staff very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast (included in our deal) was super and kept us adults going all day!

Would I use it again? Absolutely.

We were originally booked to stay at the Wellington hotel at 7th Ave and 55th. I have stayed there before, and it is just okay. Our trip was my husbands first time to the city, and I was excited about staying somewhere familiar and so close to everything. We got to the Wellington to check in, and they informed us they had overbooked, and had no room for us! I was about to flip out, until they informed us they had moved us just down the block to the boutique hotel, the Blakely. The doorman took us down there, and got us settled. WHAT A GREAT MISTAKE this was. The Blakely is a beautiful, classic, comfortable place to stay. Our room was a king bed room, with a sitting area and a desk, and a mini bar with granite counters, a sink, a fridge, a Keurig coffee machine, a big bathroom with marble and mirrors, it was amazing. I will definitely be back. The hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful even though we were latecomers and originally booked somewhere else. There is complimentary continental breakfast in their hotel restaurant, Abboccatto, and free WiFi which are both very rare in NYC since everyone likes to charge for everything. The furnishings were oak and velvet, and the linens were high thread count, very crisp and clean, and the housekeeping is very good at their job. I couldn't be happier. They stored our luggage for us when we checked out to go see the sites for a while, and called a personal car for us to take us to the airport later on (i highly recommend doing this, so you dont have to stress about getting a cab). Customer service is great. You must stay here.

Room Tip: We were on the 14th floor facing 55th St and had very little noise problems.

My mother and 2 young daughters stayed at this hotel recently. It was a great choice. Rooms were nice, not cramped, lobby was cheerful and clean. All of the staff were wonderful, especially Eric who helped me out with a luggage problem. I will stay there next time I go to NY!!
