What a find!! Room was comfortable & clean, quiet, cool, and spacious compared to many hotel rooms at the other chain hotels in NYC. Loved the true "blackout curtains!" The staff was friendly & helpful & the location was perfect. Will absolutely stay here again!!

Rosa and Steven in the breakfast area worked extremely hard and well to make sure the guests had a good experience. The rush of guests between 8:30 and 9:30 was extremely heavy and they did a great job trying to keep up. They deserve 5 stars for the effort they put out with smiles on their faces every day we were there.

Great locations, close proximity to all plays we attended. Hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. Hotel was clean and housekeeping gave us very quick service for any additional needs we had. Chris the bellman is awesome! Front desk ladies Nancy and Brenda were terrific and Bryan the manager is one of the best, thanks to all we had a great stay, we will return!
And the banana nut bread at breakfast was delish!

Room Tip: Good value"

I have been staying at this hotel for at least 7 years. The first thing I notice is the attentiveness of the staff. They know me by name whenever i sign in. Even the bellhops remember me. Secondly the rooms are always clean and refreshed when I walk in. If there is anything I need and phone housekeeping, it is brought to me withing 5 minutes. I usually stay for 9 nights each trip and want a comfortable bed. I would give their bedding and linens a AAA. In other words, in summary, the accommodations including the staff is excellent!

Room Tip: Try to avoid the rooms near an elevator. Also, if you are using their breakfast service, try and be in the dining room before 8:30 am.

Ok, so...The Hampton Inn Times Square Hilton provided us with a perfect base from which to explore New York. We flew to JFK from Heathrow. We had already decided that we would use the Subway system to get to the hotel...such a good move! The Air Train and then one Subway train and we are at 50th & Eighth Avenue. Minimal cost and tip number 1...we stayed for 5 days/4nights but bought a 7 day Subway pass. We used it a lot and travelled quite a lot around Manhattan and beyond. It was well worth spending the $31 each for unlimited travel!
Checking in to the hotel was quick and easy. The reception staff were professional and helpful giving us the necessary information for a good stay. Our room was on the 6th floor and was easily accessible by both the lifts and stairs. There was an ice machine on our floor, coupled with a vending machine if you want a soft drink. The room itself was great. We had chosen a Queen room which had two queen size beds, along-with a desk, chest of drawers, an armchair, a bedside table and a television! The room also had a wardrobe with a key operated safe, an ironing board, full sized steam iron and additional bedspreads. The bathroom was sizeable with a basin, toilet and bath/shower which gave endless hot water. The room also had a great window overlooking the street and air-conditioning which was easy to control. There was also a coffee-machine with coffee pods provided. Tip number 2...The hotel has free tea/coffee and hot chocolate supplied 24/7. This is all kept in the entrance foyer for guests use.
Breakfast is provided free of charge at the Hampton Inn. There are a range of options at the buffet, including cereals, fruit, toast, waffles and either omelletes or scrambled eggs amongst other things. The staff are constantly replenishing the supplies and to be honest we couldn't say there was a bad time to go for breakfast. We always got a table and enjoyed the food.
We always like to see the sights and pack a lot into our breaks and bought the New York Pass before travelling. Tip number 3...GET ONE EACH! Our passes cost about £90 each and boy oh boy did we get value for money. Our highlights were the Top of the Rock at the Rockerfeller tower, The Empire State Building, Madame Tussauds, The Natural History Museum, The Gugenheim, MOMA, The Statue of Liberty and two 90 minute cruises around the island, including one in a sail powered clipper. Thats not all we did through the New York Pass, but as we said boy oh boy is it good value! Obviously the more you do the more you save, but for the cost and sheer ease of use it's worth it.
New York is a fabulous place overall. (Not so great for vegetarians but we didn't starve!) The hotel is well placed with easy access to the subway system (within a 2 minute walk). There are plenty of supermarkets and places to eat around the hotel. Good pizza across the street at Gotham Pizza! A great pub just around the corner on 49th, Emmett O'Lunney's serving food til late. We ate around 11pm following night time sightseeing. The hotel is also within an easy walk to the Theatre district and Times Square.
We will definitely make it back to New York...one day! Visit...it's worth the trip!
