Very Pricy! Good comfort and service. The location is very good. The metro close by and walking distance to MOMA, UN, Central Park and a lot of shopping. Easy to catch a breakfast and to get stuff you need. A good french restaurant a block away.

Hilton Honors member -Stay with Hilton chain frequently and was quite disappointed with this hotel. On a positive note it's a good location - walk to many popular destinations with ease...

However, using even basic internet was absolutely impossible - we complained and were given multiple excuses as to why it would kick off and search continually, all being ridiculous...The front desk gave 3 different Wifi accounts to try and use and NONE would stay connected. If you plan on working or even looking at the internet while you are in NYC -you can forget it...The hotel itself is fine, nothing to brag about and certainly not what I would expect from Hilton- it's an older property, but will say it was overall clean.
The best feature of this location doesn't include the hotel at all... The restaurant, Metro Cafe, right next door is fantastic. Great food and open early am and late at night.

We arrived on April 3rd after a long day of travelling, we had some hassle at first as we didn't know you had to have a credit card with you to put a deposit down; and were told we couldn't check in. However, we managed to pay with cash although it was $200 more. We received cookies as a welcome gift, which were delicious and our room got upgraded so we had a King Sized bed instead.

The location was good, there's a few cafes, CVS & pharmacy/grocery store down a few blocks, along with Starbucks and the subway. Bloomingdales is about a 10 minute walk away, while Times Square was about 20. Definitely would recommend staying in this hotel.

We booked this hotel as a deal through BA and we were thrilled with the standards and the exceptional customer service provided by the staff. The hotel is perfectly located on Lexington Ave at 51st street where the midtown sites and Central Park are all within walking distance. We arrived at 1pm and were expecting to be told to wait until 3pm to check in, however our room was available there and then - we even got free cookies! As we were celebrating my birthday our room was even upgraded for free which was a perfect touch. The room was cleaned every day and all communal areas were maintained to a high standard. We had a few issues with the batteries in the safe not working however the security team arrived to fix it straight away. Overall we couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience and would not hesitate to rebook in the future, credit where credit is due.

We booked this hotel two months before arrival, so our paid-in-advance room rate was exceptionally good for midtown. Also on the plus side, the hotel is located close to several fast-casual and casual restaurants, and a couple very high-end dining experiences; the Lexington Avenue subway entrance is steps from the hotel; the hotel staff was eager to please (especially Robert, who walked us through a hotel problem tapping into room WiFi); the bed was comfortable enough, and the room was clean, and offered sufficient closet and drawer space.

On the negative side, the view from the window of our low-cost, advanced-booked room was over the HVAC system; the controlled room temperature was set at an uncomfortable 72 degrees throughout (luckily, we could slide the window open a crack to cool things down, but that added noise to the situation), and the lobby, elevators, hotel bar and all corridors incessantly piped in awful pop music.

Room Tip: Visitors who stay in low-cost rooms probably are destined to overlook the HVAC system. But the sky i...

I arrived at this hotel today (April 5th). They checked us in and registered us then told us that our room is not ready and they will call us, it was 1:00pm. We went for a long walk but nobody called us until 2:45pm and we decided go back to the hotel. When we went back there was a very long line and we had to wait until they checked 10-13 people in front of us. Since the laddy who checked us initially was not there, we had to do everything from scratch. The front desk people were rude and not friendly at all. When I questioned why we never received a call and why they checked all those people in front us without even giving us any courtesy call. As a result, we da to wait in line twice and do the check in process twice. My university reserved a queen size bed but our room did not have a queen size bed and when I called the front desk, they were again very rude. I travel for work in 12 different countries and this is the worst hotel ever!!!!! I will never stay again in DoubleTree and pay $249 and get this kind of service!!!!! Stay away!!!!!
