“Great hotel in great location”
Reviewed 27 April 2012

Stayed for a pre wedding/Christmas break for 3 nights in December. Great hotel, fast efficient service, nice rooms (we had a standard double) and decent shower/bathroom. Location is perfect for most places if you don't mind a ten minute walk. Plus the tour bus stops nearby and there's always taxi's.

We typically stay right in Times Square, but decided to try something different this time. The pros are that the room was much larger than other places I've stayed, and it's close to nicer shopping and food than the touristy area where we typically stay. The only con I had is that the room was loud. Alot of street noise, which I expect from NYC, but I thought it was really loud here. Maybe the windows are thinner or something. I would sacrifice quiet for large room, so I probably would not come back here since the other hotel where I usually stay is VERY quiet and that's just my personal preference. I will say, the people at this hotel (employees) are super nice. Everyone went out of their way to talk to me and my daughter. I was wondering if i resembled some celebrity or something. Like, maybe they are confused about who I am because they were trying to be so nice! Conciege was helpful when asked some questions. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone, but would just point out to maybe get a high floor to reduce the street noise if you are a light sleeper.

I attended a conference at this property. The hotel rooms and common areas obviously have been fairly recently renovated. The rooms are actually quite spacious for New York (where a walk-in closet is the usual rule of the day). Front desk, concierge, bell and housekeeping staff are attentive and friendly. There are many key attractions, great restaurants and world class shopping in the immediate environs. The 525 Lex lounge is cheerful, with great bar service. Depending on ones proclivities, the call girls at the bar may be either an annoyance or a welcome "feature."

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor away from the elevators for maxmum quietude

This hotel is up to Marriott's usual high standards. The price is a bit steep but competitive with other high-class hotels in Manhattan. The location is excellent. At a walking distance of many major attraction, near subways, in a safe area.

We received excellent customer service during the lenght of our stay, including check-in and check-out.

The room was simply decorated, clean and of an average size (large for NYC's standards). the beds and pillows were comfortable. The room contained everything you would expect in a hotel room with flat screen TV, refrigerator and ipod/phone charger/player. There is a safe in the room but you must pay extra to use it.

Although I LOVED my stay, there were a few lowson my stay: Parking is very expensive ($60/night) which is higher than any other hotels in NYC that I have been to. As well, I found the shower-head to be too low in the bathroom. I am under 6' tall and found that I couldn't stand directly under the stream of water. As well, you will hear everything happening in the hallway in your room, but since this is a nice hotel, guests tend to be quiet so it wasn't really ever a problem... Internet is extremely expensive... Unless you are travelling for work, I would advise to use Starbuck's free wi-fi to do your research... (think $25/day for wi-fi service at the hotel... expensive!).

I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.

A bit loud at night but the room was comfortable. Convenient location to fun bars and restaurants.

This is my first visit to this particular Marriott, and thus far, I have been very happy. The rooms are on the small size, but that is to be expected in NYC. When I first checked in, my room faced the street where the utility company was using a jackhammer. Although it took 2 calls to the front desk to get a new room, Marlene (who answered my second call) was fantastic - she immediately got me a quieter room, despite the hotel being almost full. This is why I often stay at Marriott!

Just back from a quick getaway with our teenage son. The room was larger than we expected, with 2 double beds and 4 windows overlooking Lexington and 49th. Great location - for us it was an easy walk to Empire State Bldg., Times Sq., and Central Park. As my husband usually stays at Marriotts, we had access to the concierge lounge and enjoyed the breakfast and evening appetizers and honor bar. Also loved it's rooftop deck. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, from the concierge and front desk, to the doormen, valets, and bellhops. We'll defintely be back!
