“Location is great, but that is about it....”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

My husband and I booked the Millennium after receiving a deal from TravelZoo. We had tickets to the Rangers game last night and figured we'd make a fun overnight out of our trip to the city.
We drove in and it took about 5 minutes for a valet to come out and greet us. When we walked in to the desk to check in, the man at the desk asked for our name and a credit card. He asked us to sign a piece of paper and then handed us our keys. He never explained what floor we were on, how to get to the elevators, etc. Luckily my husband and I figured it out, but we have stayed at lower class hotels with better front desk service.
Room was great. No view, but we didn't pay for one. We were on the back sides and it was amazingly quiet for NYC. Blackout curtains are a nice touch.
When we returned from the game last night one of the front desk men on duty was using the f-word and when I looked at him, he just smiled as if he hadn't just used that word describing a situation.
Needless to say, I'm not impressed. Other than location, I'd go elsewhere if you're looking for service. You can't beat the location, but I'd pay more money next time to avoid the Millennium.
As a note, my husband and I are young and not business travelers and I'm wondering if that accounts for the lack of service and professionalism we received. Regardless we've never had a similar problem at other hotels.

The hotel was lovely. The staff friendly and helpful. The room clean. There was one little problem. There were two beds in our room but neither of them were queen or even full size. When I book a double room or a room for 2 people I expect a queen or a full size bed. Sadly this was not the case otherwise high marks for the hotel

Dear Roadieplanner,

The Webster’s Dictionary defines lovely as “delightful; highly pleasing: to have a lovely time.” This is what the Millennium Broadway wants to be for our guests.

Thank you for recognizing the effort the staff gives into creating a welcoming atmosphere to all our visitors. We enjoy being your home away from home.

As for the guests’ rooms, although true we do not have rooms that contain two (2) queen size beds, we do have rooms with two (2) full-size beds that accommodate four persons. Next time reach out to me personally and I will make certain you get to enjoy one our luxurious double doubles.

Thank you again for choosing the Millennium Broadway Hotel New York and we welcome and opportunity to serve you again in the near future.

Sincerely,

Melanie Turner

We spent a night for weekend away, great location. You just walked right out the main doors and you were right in the middle of everything. Shopping, Broadway and everything else was right there. I thought the hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and courteous.
I would stay here again,if the price was right.

Book a double queen for a family of 3. Arrived to a room with 3 pillows, 2 towels and 1 bed. The toilet leaked and flooded the bathroom floor. We had to call twice to get it fixed. The room backed up against the elevator shaft and it sounded like a plane was landing in our bed every minute throughout the night. The next day I inquired about getting a different room and was treated with such animosity, sarcasm and nastiness from the employee at the desk that other people passing through the lobby stopped to stare. I repeatedly asked him to calm down and to just discuss the issues. He told me go see the manager if I don't like it. We did end up getting another room - if we agreed to pack and move into it within 15 minutes, because he "did not need us tying up 2 rooms" and I don't think I have ever seen anything like it. There was dried urine on the back of the toilet, Black mold on the ceiling, white crusty dried on drips down the side of the bedside table. The maids carried around tote bags with a few items - never saw any evidence of clean sheets or towels coming to a room. Absolutely disgusting and a staff that went against every costumer service rule there ever was. I have never been in a hotel as dirty or dealt with staff as rude, and I would never stay here again. See photos for items described above.

Room Tip: Beware of rooms near the elevators and check room before checking in.

We we're visiting the states for the first time & stayed here as good price found.
To start with all was well, staff are friendly & helpful.
After first day the daily maids did not clean/ replace the coffee jug (so stale coffee still there from previous day), but they did remove the filter each day! Cobwebs started to form in all corners over the week. No free WiFi but is available for a premium $12.95per day. Breakfast is available too ( again overpriced!!) But there are plenty of places within a 5 main walk.
Views from our room & floor were amazing just over Times Square & some of the sights are easily viewed.

Overall it is not a bad hotel just niggles really. All are easily overcome. I would stay here again as great location for all main sights
