The location was great. It is located right on Time Square and close to other attractions within the city. The only downside was that I felt like I was still battling people inside the hotel. When I come into a hotel I want to relax and get away from the city. The concierge lounge was neat but the food/snacks weren't anything special. The room was nice and clean. Room service was awful. Service was ok. I felt like staff was curt at times.

From check-in to checkout, service was great! Being there a few days before Christmas meant crowds everywhere, and this hotel is right at Times Square. What a nice experience for my first visit to NYC. Love the elevator system in this hotel. Never a long wait. Room was very spacious and clean with a lovely view. Most sights were within walking distance. Cabs are available at the entrance door if needed. I truly cannot say anything on the negative side. I had a fabulous stay!

Room Tip: A Times Square view would be my choice.

Wonderful hotel perfectly located. Rooms very nice and good service. Wonderful breakfast buffet and fun restaurant/bar looking out on Times Square. Also has the View on top that rotates. Friendly staff. Certainly will stay here the next time I visit NYC.

Recently i booked for 2 nights at this hotel with my family and i had very very bad experience from bell men to check in and also at the time of check out. Basically i am a Marriott platinum and when i went with my family and when took my car to the entrance and in spite of i mentioned at check in the bell men at the entrance are not bothered so i have to take my self my luggage to the room. At the check in it took 30 mins to check in b;cos no body was there at the priority desk and also same happened at check out but there was a person at priority desk and he never bothered to see and went inside with out mentioning that he will be back. Also the room service was terrible and when we ordered breakfast we got cold coffee but they replace when we mentioned but we lost so much time in waiting.

So i explained to the staff and gave my contact details to contact by their General manager and nobody called to me from that hotel. So looks like this hotel did not met Marriott standards. So before you book

Room Tip: Do not not take corner rooms

This is a modern hotel right next to Times Square. The location is excellent: out the door and you are in Times Square and all the Broadway theatres. The Times Square subway is huge and from there you can get to all corners of New York.

Rooms are a good size and well equipped, including tea and coffee maker/safe etc. The hotel has recently been refurbished so the rooms are currently really nice and show little sign of wear. Despite being so close to Times Square, the rooms were very quiet.

All the staff were friendly and helpful: one useful service they offer is storing your luggage (free - but obviously you tip the bell hops)). We arrived in the morning before our room was ready (which is generally not before 4pm) but they just took our cases and delivered them to our room, so they were there when we got back from sightseeing that day. Similarly when we left, we had an evening flight but they stored our cases and delivered them downstairs for us to pick up our transfer. This is a major plus so you don't waste time in New York.

This is a modern 'open access' hotel: we spoke to Americans who used it as a meeting place even though they weren't staying there. Consequently it is very busy and can feel a bit impersonal - this was fine for us but it depends what you want. If you want personal service and a more 'old-fashioned' feel, then this is not the hotel for you.

The reception is on the 8th floor: the lift are unusual. You key in the floor you want to go to and it indicates which lift to use. This seems strange to start with but the system works really well and although the hotel is very busy you rarely have to wait long for a lift.

The main disappointment were the restaurants. Although not expensive for the level of hotel in the centre of New York, we just found them uninspiring. However there are so many places to eat in the area this really is not a problem: there are eateries to cater for all tastes.

All in all we would stay there again when visiting New York.

Room Tip: Some rooms overlook Times Square, but you will pay for this. Standard rooms are fine.

I have been to NYC several times but this is first time I have stayed in the heart of NYC - Times Square. The hotel is HUGE adn the rooms are what you would expect from a Marriott - nice and comfortable. A couple of things to note about staying here...there is no typical Lobby area to sort of sit and gather yourself or wait to meet friends; yes, there is a "lobby" where you check-in (on the 8th floor) & you can find a concierge but it is not a lobby in the traditional sense. The hotel restaurant on the 8th floor as well seemed cold and uninviting so we did not even attempt it...there are so many good places to eat in NYC, no need to hang out here. Also, the hotel bar does not open until 5pm. That all said, if you want to be in the heart of things, stay here! It is centrally located near all of the shows, theaters and trains.

For a total Times Square experience this hotel definitely fits the bill. Pricey, but worth the splurge for the awesome views and proximity to theaters. Rooms with a view of Times Square cost even more but are definitely worth it. Reception desks are on the 8th floor and the staff is very warm and welcoming. Revolving restaurant has an excellent dinner buffet and accepts semi casual dress. There's a mandatory coat check before you get to the access elevator for the restaurant (you may want to bring cash for tipping). We checked out early to see a morning performance, leaving our bags in storage to pick up at 2 pm. The process was somewhat confusing, there was a long line waiting for taxis, the doormen were impatient, and it took a long time to get the bags delivered to us. Something to keep in mind if you use this service and are on a tight schedule. But all in all, this is a great place to stay, especially for out-of-towners.
