“Not good value for $”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

Rooms: dated with wall unit A/Cs not well cleaned and loud. Floors and walls had scratches, bathtub old, shower curtain smelled bad. Fridge empty.

Biz center: Located at the corner of the spacious lobby w 4 apple machines (nice). I had work and didn't bring my laptop, so I went there after midnight to finish it quietly. I was surprised that MS office cost $0.40 /min!!! So I went back to my room v. Disappointed and wrote this review.
Over all the one thing I liked was the lobby and high wifi speed. I wouldn't stay here again.

Stayed here for a girls getaway to see Billy Joel at MSG - loved it! Room was clean and big with 2 queens, living area, 2 baths and kitchenette. Couldn't get any closer to MSG- literally a minute walk! Walked to hotel from bus station. Hotel bar is fun and upbeat. Don't forget free wine served everyday in lobby from 5-6pm. Walked to highline drive- probably 20 minutes but manageable. Duncan donuts and Starbucks right across street. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

We stayed there in March 2008 for 10 nights and it was just great. Spacious suite, excellent cocktails
( especially Cosmos) and good Guinness, great room service, very friendly staff and coffee available in the lobby area early in the morning. The location is excellent.

I remember the Concierge was really helpful in getting us tickets for a Mets game at Madison Square Gardens, which was a great experience.

We loved our stay there. We are booked in for an 8 night stay starting 30 May, and subsequent to the refurbishment we have booked a Terrace Suite this time, which we are really looking forward to staying in. We are, of course, also looking forward to partaking of the evening wine hour.

We spent the 3rd weekend in March of 2014 here. We stayed at the same hotel several years ago. Took the train to Penn Station NYC and the Hotel is right outside the station, within 2 blocks of Macys (the largest Macys in the world) and diagonally across from Madison Square Garden. We were in the higher floors in a corner Suite so there was a great view of 7th Avenue below us. The hotel, I understand underwent renovations from when we stayed here several years ago. The new décor is hip and I love the white tones in the room. The restaurant had a nice buffet breakfast set up on the weekends. Both the Front Desk staff and the restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will stay here again on my next visit to the Big Apple.

We stayed here for one night and were really disappointed - especially with the room.
The pictures we saw for the hotel were NOT what we got. The room was pokey, the bathroom even smaller and it was all a little rough around the edges. For the price we paid, we were not expecting what we were given. Had we stayed any longer, we would have asked to move rooms or asked for a discount!

We were fairly high up and yet the noise was SO bad. I think we right by a fire station and so were hearing some wailing sirens ALL the time, throughout the night. As well as police and ambulance sirens, too. Really awful.

Needles to say, we couldn't wait to get out of there and move to our next hotel.
The staff were friendly, which was probably the best thing about it.

Room Tip: I would avoid this hotel unless it's your last choice or you don't like sleeping.

Dear GinaHadji,

Thank you for your review.
I’m sorry that we did not live up to your expectations this time. Our hotel offers many different guest rooms and suites in varying configurations – from our petite guestrooms to two-bedroom suites. We do our best to provide as many pictures to visually assist in describing some configurations. And we are located right on Seventh Avenue and 31st Street – one of the most central locations in New York City which is rich with all of the sights and sounds that are part of it. I also appreciate the kind words you have to say about our staff – we highly appreciate it!

Sincerely,

This newly renovated hotel has an upgraded university dorm feel to it.
With free coffee in the TV room.
It is not cheap, but the Central Manhattan location, walking distance form MOMA, is outstanding and the staff friendly.

Stayed there for 13 nights from April 1 2014. Arrived after midnight and not impressed with unfriendly desk clerk who was only interested in up selling and offered no help with our bags or direction to our room. Not wrapped with our room (queen suite with kitchen and lounge) Room was very tired and worn .Next morning we were offered an upgrade at no extra cost to a better room . .It had had a makeover although things like floor based air cons had just been left in place and painted over in unprofessional manner. The room was a good size with 2 small bathrooms,,a basic but adequate kitchen , a lounge and 2 bigscreen TVs. One very loud air con was situated at the bed head( too loud to have on ) and the other one didn't work .A lamp in the lounge didn't work .One day on arriving back to the hotel our room hadn't been made up at 5.10pm.Went to reception who tried to justify by saying they were too busy getting ready for new arrivals Room was done around 6 pm .Not good enough!! . For several days only 2 lifts were operating which often meant a 10 minute delay for us on the 20th floor
Staff apart from the check in were pleasant and helpful particularly the 2 female consierges,
We paid $500AUD per night for this hotel and it fell way below expectations for that sort of money
Robert and Lyn

Room Tip: We had quite room on the back corner away from the elevators
