“Superb Everything”

Renovations are incredible. Terrific location (between Park and Lexington). Most rooms are oversized and very comfortable. Informative, helpful, and considerate staff. Extremely easy access to town cars and cabs. Our room had a kitchenette (sink, small refrig., microwave; stove; coffee maker).

Room Tip: Never had a bad room. When making the reservation, be specific and the staff will guide you.

The Lombardy has one thing that everyone staying in NYC would love to have: size. The rooms are spacious by any standards, let alone NYC standards. The front desk staff were courteous and professional, as was the bell hop and the bag handlers. We stayed in room that was advertised as two queen beds--one of our main attractions as we don't like double beds. The beds, however, were advertised incorrectly as this particular unit did not have queen beds. We were happy with the bathroom which had been recently renovated. The kitchenette probably had not updates since the unit was built (30 plus years) but we were not using it other thank for drinks. There were, however, three major drawbacks. The living area was great with a beautiful sectional and lots of room.
1. The AC really could not accommodate the size of the unit and the 100 degree heat of NYC. It was old, never updated, and just could not keep the unit cool. The owners had placed a resin lid of sorts on it which was meant to redirect air flow but it did not work.
2. There was no sign on the door like in regular hotels that said "Do Not Disturb." On check out day, however, we ran into the maid in the hallway who asked us if we were checking out. We told her we were not and actually stated we were going to ask for an extended check out. She said okay. We went down to the desk and had the extended check out approved. We went to breakfast and came directly back, and the maid was in our room with the room completely torn apart. Our luggage was all there, wide open, indicating we were obviously not ready to leave, and yet she was cleaning our room all around our things and tearing down the sheets. I have never seen anything like it.
3. When we spoke to the desk staff about our hot room, their offer to us was one king bed with roll away beds. Since we were two different families of four total, this was not a suitable arrangement for us. We felt since we paid for two queen beds, their offer to correct the situation should have included two beds.

Our unit was 907 and pictures are attached. I would try to stay at this hotel again, as the price was reasonable, it was quiet, and the staff were friendly. I would be careful to ask for specific things upon checking in, such as a working and functional AC unit and queen beds, if these were something that would concern you as the reader of this review. The location is close to Central Park. We took cabs to get to Chelsea Market, the theatre district, and Rockefeller Center.

Room Tip: Be specific about your needs. All units are different; some are more updated than others.

We stayed here with five adults in a one bedroom suite with 2 queen beds. The room we got was very nice with a nice kitchen, good size living area and a nice size bedroom. It was modern and very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised and very happy. The doormen and front desk people were also very helpful and professional. The Hotel also provided a nice free Continental breakfast. We will stay again. Thank you Lombardy for our great experience. :)

We stayed there twice in the month of May in a 1 Bedroom apartment. The first apartment was amazing, tastefully decorated, 2 walk in closets, small kitchen but adequate. Extremely comfortable king size bed. The 2nd apartment was not as nice, had AC trouble, but 2 bathrooms, large, with a modem. It was very comfortable. It was a 900 sf apartment for 400 a night in NYC, so can't beat the price for the space.

The location is 2 blocks from Bloomingdales, close to subway, 10 minutes from Central Park, and best of all close to my work. Staff is courteous, not a hotel service. But these are individually owned apartments, so place is run like a coop rather than a hotel. Will definitely come and stay here.

We stayed in June and had a deluxe king room. The room had a kitchenette and the main area was divided into two areas, one with the king bed and TV and the other area with 2 comfy chairs, a table and another large TV. Very comfortable and although we didn't cook it was good to bring meals home and eat in comfort. It is located in a nice area of the city, close to Central Park. The staff seemed a bit so so. I think maybe that they think the permanent residents are more important and the hotel guests are an imposition. If you can live with that you will have a great time at an excellent location.

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear are very quiet.

Minor kerfuffle on check in with one front desk staff. When issue was straightened out I would have loved an apology instead he sent his colleague over to address the oversight. The suite was lovely. Perfect for entertaining. Tasteful decoration. 2 bathrooms. Walk in closet. Well stocked kitchen area. Comfortable king size bed. The air conditioning unit was a little noisy. I did not find the bellhop to be of particular assistance when I was leaving. That being said I adored the suite. So much space for a NY hotel.

Room Tip: I loved suite 800. Each suite is privately owned and decorated according to taste of owner so it wi...

We arrived early than expected, and our room was ready, reception staff was friendly, it is locatet at walking distance to many attractions. It was an indication from our friends and we were positively surprised. We couldn't make a better choice!
