I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years. Each time exceeded the previous one. My most recent stay in June started with a super-friendly valet at the front door, followed by a delightful employee at the front desk who graciously upgraded our junior suite without us asking! The ambience of the hotel is warm and inviting, while relaxing. Rooms are spacious and appealing. It was truly a pleasant experience from the moment we walked into the hotel (our room was ready for us despite us being two hours early) to the convenient online checkout when we left. We will stay again!

Conveniently located, like a home away from home. The doormen were awesome. I never touched a car door and they got me a cab a block and a half away in rush hour. On 51st at 7th, steps from most popular mid-town locations. The internet was not the greatest. The snack in the bar was perfect. The bed was yummy, the shower was relaxing and the closet was ostentatious. Definitely worth the money.

I have always stayed at the Hudson. I left another review about them, so I won't get into why I chose this hotel over them.

I do not regret my choice one bit.
I'm a light sleeper.. Last month when I came to the city I barely slept 8 hours in 72 hours due to noise.

This time was a whole nother experience. The second you walk in, you can't hear one sound from the street. Our room was at the end of the hall 336, so we didn't have much traffic walking by which was nice. The front desk wasn't overly friendly, but the entrance greeter, Chris, made up for everyone's lack of personality. He was very helpful when we needed transportation or even recommendations on brunch or nightlife. I don't think I will ever stay anywhere else in the city. What a hidden Gem. Perfect location and QUIET in one of the loudest cities in the world. Can't wait to come back!

We went back to this hotel because we knew it is centrally located to most everything you could want in New York. It is one block from Broadway, close to Times Square and Rockefeller Center, the subway station and the buses. We could walk to most sights and ride the subway to the others. The staff is very attentive. James, the concierge, is amazing. We heard him speaking other languages to other guests he was helping. He is a fountain of information and gives great tips about how to get about town. He will make arrangements and reservations and you can count that it is taken care of. The bellmen and maids are just as friendly and attentive. Your room will be clean and needs furnished. The doorman lends umbrellas if the weather turns. The lobby is beautiful and we actually ate breakfast in the bar area one morning and the food was very good. One suggestion would be that they keep a coffee station open in the morning for us late risers. They do have one, but I was never able to catch a brew. This would be my choice for a return trip. There is no need to take a chance on a new hotel when this one has served one so well.

This is our second time at the hotel - first with our two kids. You can't beat the combination of location and large size rooms. We were pleasantly surprised how kid friendly the staff and other guests were. It is ideally located to a lot of kid friendly attractions - Times Square, Rockefeller Center and Central Park. The hotel came up with cupcakes for our daughter's birthday - very nice touch! We will certainly stay here again - whether with our kids and for a nice weekend without kids.

Stayed in January 2014 over a weekend. Friendly service at check-in and from the porter. When we got to our room, it was 2 double beds instead of the king we requested. When we called down, they said they would send the porter back up to move us to a room with a King bed. They put us in a suite with 2 bathrooms. Huge room (for NYC) and we loved the service & location. Good value for Manhattan.

This hotel is by far one of the very best in NYC! To start off we got married from here whilst on our 5 night stay but I, by no means ,feel as though they would have treated us any differently had we been there just for vacation! From the minute we arrived, the check in staff were extremely friendly before they got our booking details up and when the lady at reception noticed that we were getting married, she said that she was going to upgrade our standard room to a deluxe suit! and a deluxe suit it was! Huge bedroom and lounge area with a large TV in both, walk in wardrobe and large bathroom with another TV- yes,3 in total!

The staff had put music on for when we arrived at the hotel room and had left a box of chocolates and a note congratulating us on our forthcoming wedding and had asked us to let them know if there was anything they could do to help. A quick note to James, I believe his name was, on thanking you on sorting our many queries we had as to booking the restaurant for our wedding night as we were struggling to do it from the UK. You responded so quickly and professionally, so many thanks!

The rooms are extremely comfortable and the beds are the best I have ever slept in- we cant seem to sleep since we got back- oh I miss those comfortable pillows!

Housekeeping was great, everything was spotless when we came back from a long day wandering the streets of new York!

We had a great wedding day and could think of no better way to have started it off than in the Michelangelo Hotel, sipping a chilled glass of champagne in the beautiful lobby with some great staff to talk to... and settle our nerves!

The bar man ( his name escapes me) was so friendly and we talked about when he got married and he insisted on taking a few pictures on the amazing staircase in the lobby.

Enough about the wedding now, back to the hotel after getting slightly carried away. We had bottle of champagne and champagne flutes chilling when we got back from the restaurant at night and boy, was that appreciated!

Anyone planning to get married in NYC, this is definitely the hotel to be looking at!
