Location was very good, close by restaurants and corner stores such as CVS 7/11 , Subway. This is good because you can buy snacks and drinks to bring back to the room since there's a microwave and a fridge in the room. Rooms are very clean and much roomier than most NY hotels. Only bathrooms are tiny but very clean and everything you need. One drawback was the parking, when I booked it was listed as FREE parking and then they charged me $20 per day. This was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel and then I was told that since I booked thru a booking agency I had to pay the fee. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT! Staff was OK. Overall the hotel was better than I expected for the price I paid except for the parking (although the price is a lot lower than most hotels charge and you have in/out privileges), location is decent and they are remodeling and the facility is very clean. I would stay here again if prices stay the same. By the way even though we did not use the pool it looked great.

I've stayed here before and mainly because their parking WAS free, this time I was told $20 per night. the Indian front desk staff was rude and unfriendly. For almost $300/night there are plenty of other great places to stay in NYC. I won't be back

Room Tip: Avoid the weekends and their rude Indian front desk staff.

As many people said, this hotel is really well located. We really enjoyed being able to walk back to the hotel after the shows. The price is ok considering the location. The hotel is clean.

But we had a couple of surprises during our stay:
- The free parking is not free anymore. Expect 20$ per night, even if you reserved when the parking was free. We heard people complaining at the desk about that without much success.
- The hotel is under renovation. We were awaken twice at 7:30am by hammering over our head. When we complained to the desk, they told us it was not possible because they started at 8 (and later in the conversation they said they started only at 9, who knows...). I really like when people tell you that you are imagining things... Because they start late, they say they don't need to advise their guess about that...
- Don't expect an evening at the pool. It is only opened 10am-7pm!

Maybe we were really badluckied, but we were also awaken at 1:30AM by our smoke detector with dead batteries. The security guy came to our room without anything... looked at the smoke detector, got out of the room to get a chair to climb on, removed the batteries and asked weither we would like the battery changed or removed... The funniest moment of our stay...

Overall, if you are lucky enough to get a room far from the renovations, you might enjoy your stay. Still, it is noisy. We had a room facing the pool so it was not that bad, but we did hear other people around. Don't expect confort in your bed... And the bathrooms are really small. I guess you get what you pay for... But we didn't pay for suprises...

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the pool or you might regret it (noise)...

Stayed for one night on the tail end of an upstate NY vacation. Selected due to location, which couldn't be better. Hotel has parking garage - a major plus, although costs $25 overnight. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby is small, but neat. To get to our room we had to walk through the garage, past construction materials. The elevator barely holds 3. The room, likewise was tiny. 2 dbl-beds made for a narrow walkway. The bathroom was smaller than tiny - almost couldn't dress in it and there were no hooks anywhere. Although the room was clean, it was very worn. The lights above the bed flickered due to loose switch. The bathroom heat lamp would not wind down. There was a microwave and a small refrigerator. Didn't use the WiFi as we we there only overnight and it too costs extra.

BUT...location, location, location! Walk out the door and you are blocks from Times Square and the Theater district. Since this was our reason for going, I can't really complain for a 1 night stay. If intending to stay for several nights or more time in hotel, would choose an alternative.

I stayed here with my husband and two children for a night in March 2014, We arrived quite late after driving many hours from Niagara Falls but the check-in was done quite quickly. That really helps. The gentleman at the reception was not too friendly, but offered sufficient help when asked (subway info, Manhattan map, suggestions of places to visit within 5 hours etc).
+ Clean, basic room for our purpose of one night stay
+ Free Parking, and we can still leave the car there till 3pm after check-out. That gives us enough time to make a quick round of NYC without much extra costs or hazard (no need to worry about car, parking, getting lost etc.)
- Can be noisy at night: traffic noises
- Fairly small bath / toilet area. If you have very young children, this could be quite cramp if you wish to bath the child, or take him / her to toilet under parental care.
- Subway is within walking distance but two or three blocks away.
Overall, for one night stop-over. we are satisfied with our room and the brief service encounter.

This is a high priced for what you get anywhere else but good price in NYC hotel. There is room for luggage, room to walk around the beds, a full sized mini fridge and microwave with a dresser that is on the small side. The bathrooms are long and narrow and the closet is tiny. The beds are not particularly comfortable but they'll do. The room and property in general was clean and I didn't worry about anything while there. Our room was on the interior around the pool and with the air conditioner on (which worked pretty well), we only heard the sirens and those were even somewhat muted. Treat the a/c like white noise and it works out fine. :)

The location is good. About 10 minutes walk to a subway stop and very close to lots of reasonably priced restaurants and bakeries. Taxis can pretty quickly get to a highway and circle back around the city to save you some time and avoid some traffic if you wanted to take one of them uptown rather than the subway.

The front desk staff wasn't particularly friendly but they were adequate to their job. Occasionally the guy opening the front doors for people was sociable and even smiled.

I have reviews of other locations (not hotels though) in NYC and on the taxi situation on my travel blog if you are interested: http://www.travelswithstinky.com/

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the pool. This seems to be a quieter location.
