“Simple and delicious savory pancakes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014 via mobile

Famous actors have been there! Their photos taken at the resto pasted on the walls! The diner and food were quite simple but blueberry pancake with sausages was delicious. My friend had an omelette but is ok. Happy that we had a NY styled breakfast.

“Great breakfast diner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

We wanted a diner near our hotel and found this via google maps and trip advisor. It was a real olden goldie with a lots of fun things to look at on the walls, pictures, articles and more. It seem to be a real west village pearl. Good service and nice breakfast aswell.

“Greasy spoon delight”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2014

On the lookout for breakfast I walked into La Bonbonniere and headed straight for the last available bar seat. The place was buzzing with families, couples and regulars reading the paper. When I saw their plates I knew this was gonna be good. My cup of coffee was never empty, my delicious challah french toast arrived quickly and the check was a pleasant surprise. Go sit at the bar and watch the magic happen: staff is unstoppable. And nice!

“Just what I imagined a New York York diner to be”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 September 2013

We wanted to include a 'diner breakfast ' in our recent trip to NYC. We tried a few including the so called famous Lindy's in the Hotel Pensylvania ( over priced greasy rubbish !) and then we found La Bonbonnier, despite its French name it seemed to be run by Greeks. Anyway, it was terrific - informal, lots of reading matter and customers who seemed to be New Yorkers. It's a Formica table type of place but the service was great, staff were friendly, helpful and efficient: water brought immediately to the table, coffee cups frequently filled.
And the food? It was just what we wanted! Perfect eggs and bacon for him, delicious, light pancakes and syrup for me ( in other diners pancakes were heavy and needed gallons of syrup)
A great New York experience - to be recommended.

“An expensive dump”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2013

My friend loves what he thinks are old time diners and has wanted to try this place for a long time. It feels like a daytime (breakfast) place so dinner has never really been that appealing. We finally went for lunch yesterday. The place is a dump. And an expensive dump. He had a turkey burger special with cheese and bacon, French fries and cole slaw and between the two of us we had 3 iced teas. $23! We left a $4 tip. $27 for a turkey burger and iced tea in a greasy spoon? Puhleeze.
