Started with a truffle ball as appetizer that just bursts with flavor in your mouth.
Love that their menu changes and was disappointed they didn't have the ravioli but the risotto was good and the lamb was cooked to perfection.
They are consistenr in the quality of food.price is on the high side but you pay for what you get. If they are offered in NYC restaurant week I'd jump on the opportunity for a prix fixe of less than $50.

We were there for an important business dinner and there were so many errors made by the wait stuff that it became a running joke. Foie gras came without bread and when we asked for it we were viewed like we came from Mars. It took over 10 minutes to get bread after many requests. It finally came when all others were done with their appetizers and mains were ready to be served. No apologies, no comp, no nothing! Bathroom was dirty and out of toilet paper. I pointed this out to someone who said "OK" no thanks. And this at stiff prices. This kind of service is unacceptable. Oh and the food? Passable nothing more.

My wife and I had a NYC Restaurant Week lunch at Dovetail, one of many meals at this excellent restaurant. The very creative menu is flawlessly executed, the food always a joy, the service professional and friendly. Dovetail is deserving of its Michelin star and always worth the trip.

Two for lunch during Restaurant week. Three course meal. Each extraordinary.

Started with individual cornbreads. Delicious. Requested butter and it came immediately.

Steak Tartare was incredible. Not the usual red meat and capers... but in a lovely and light sauce and beautifully presented. Highly recommend. Butternut squash soup superb and beautifully presented again.

Hangar steak prepared medium rare exactly as requested. Wonderful sides. Roast chicken dish was also very good.

Dessert was lovely -- Intensely flavored chocolate gateau with a lovely swirl of foamy cream (like ice cream). Bread pudding absolutely delicious with (I think) cherries in a sweet sauce with whisky flavored icy cream on the side. Just scrumptious.

Quiet elegant setting. Tables set apart nicely. Attentive but not obtrusive service. Highly recommend. High value based on modest $25 restaurant week prices. Did not see the regular menu but I expect it's much more expensive. Worth it. Would go back.
