We chose The Lucerne Hotel for it's location (upper west side), room size (two full size beds), price, and consistently high ratings here on Trip Advisor. Check-in was quick, and the room we received with the 4 night 20% discount did not have much of a view, but was a nice, large corner room with windows on 2 walls and lots of light. The bathroom also had a window, which was nice. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom shower had great water pressure. The hotel's restaurant, Nice Matin, has a wonderful bar and great food. We had breakfast and dinner there, and service was exceptional. There is a shuttle that provides transportation to this hotel (and a handful of others) from both JFK and LGA for approximately $20-30, which was the most economical way to travel between the hotel and the airport. We had no problem catching a cab at the front of the hotel each day, and the neighborhood has a variety of shopping and restaurants/bars to choose from.
