“A good base for NY”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

Just returned from a trip to New York. I chose this hotel because it is very central (mid town) and as it it was my first trip to New York, I thought that best, and it had reasonable reviews.
The hotel is fine, and indeed very well located. The rooms were quite small but not bad at all, if a little worn. The staff were friendly and efficient and I was pretty happy with it overall, and the price was not too bad given the location.

In short, i would recommend this hotel for a short trip to New York.

The hotel was in an excellent location. We had a room on the 25th floor with a balcony view up to Central Park and down to Times Square. Absolutely fantastic.
As we were here for our honeymoon it was lovely to receive a bottle of bubbly and chocolates in our room.
We would recommend The Wellington to anyone. The service we received was second to none

Stayed here on a weekend away. The hotel is in a great location. near to Times Square and Central Park. The staff were great. The rooms were a good size but a little drab and dated. However the hotel is being updated. Would recomended with no problem

Stayed here with my partner 11th-18th June the location is perfect! Reception is very nice and air conditioned just what you need with the humidity outside and the staff are friendly. Our room was a bit tired we were on the 22nd floor not much of a view but the real views are out of your room!. Beds are comfortable maids came in daily shower is fine we always got hot water also a decent sized tv with plenty of channels.

The little cafe attached is great for breakfast we went back a few times. Had a great time in NY would recommend trying the subway its easy once you get the hang of it also did open top tour buses ideal in the weather try and get a deal for the week and get top of the rock tickets well worth it!.

We did a Hudson river cruise too was such a great night treated like royalty ..bit pricey but well worth it magical views and very elegant atmosphere with a great band. Topped off our week with Yankees baseball game! Dragged on a bit but worth going for the experience enjoyed it....little tip leave early for the subway!.

Had a great trip overall. Loved NY would stay at Wellington again in a heartbeat. If your not fussed about luxury give it a go its all you need for a busy holiday.

We stayed for a weekend in March and for seeing the sites the location was perfect! A stones throw from central park and a short walk to Times Square, we felt like we were right in the thick of it. The room was clean and well presented and the overall hotel had nice historic charm

The hotel is perfectly located in Mid-town. It's over on 7th Avenue, very close to Central Park and Times Square. The building is a bit old, but we saw crews renovation done gradually. The staff is polite but a little formal. The reception is always willing to help, but it's always busy. The room on the 12th floor where we stayed was spacious. The bathroom is large enough. There were shampoo, soaps, and 2 hair dryers, an iron and ironing board. The only negative, no refrigerator. Another negative is the air conditioning. Early June we went it was hot in New York and central air conditioning is not modern that every visitor to adjust the temperature as desired. The two positions, low and high, not enough regulation, because the low, cold was strong. Also wants a little attention to booking fees. For each use of the credit card the customer has to ask for more reason is.

Room Tip: If you do not like the room you have kept for you, ask the front desk to change it, they are willing...
