My wife and I stayed at this hotel for two nights over the Memorial Day weekend -- and the accommodations could not have been more perfect. We had tickets for two Broadway shows -- one located right around the corner on 49th between Broadway and 8th Avenue; the other located just 3 short blocks down 8th Avenue. We had also pre-reserved two meals at restaurants located just around the corner from the hotel, so the location was absolutely perfect. Even on a holiday weekend, foot traffic on 8th Avenue was a lot easier to negotiate than on Broadway, but we were literally just steps away from all the lights and excitement of the Great White Way.

We had a standard King room, which was very comfortable, with all the amenities, including mini-fridge, in-room safe, large, flat-screen TV, two phones, free wifi, and plenty of electrical outlets. The hotel staff was very accommodating, as well, getting us into our room when we arrived even though it was 11 a.m. There is a very nice casual french bistro attached to the hotel where we had lunch our first day and breakfast our last morning. The only criticism I have -- and it is minor -- is that even in our 7th floor room with the windows closed, we were able to hear the subway roll by frequently. The building actually vibrated slightly each time we heard the subway. Kind of strange, although it really didn't disturb us or interrupt our sleep. Our room did face 8th Avenue, which provided a nice view of the city to the west, but perhaps a room facing toward the back of the hotel might net get as much subway or street sounds.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in NY and looking for a very comfortable and fairly priced hotel in the theater district.

Room Tip: If you don't like city or subway sounds, perhaps a room facing the back of the hotel would be a little more quiet than one facing 8th Avenue and the front of the hotel.

I stayed here for 4 nights while in the city with girlfriends. I had researched hotels using trip advisor. The reviews didn't disappoint. The location was perfect - near all the theaters, near the subway, easy distance to Central Park, and other sights. Great restaurants nearby. Across the street is a Food Market where we grabbed a quick snack or yogurt for breakfast. The staff at the hotel were friendly and very accommodating.

You're paying a well worth premium,$395, for the location being centrally located near Times Square. The hotel is like a regular Hilton, with a small lobby staff that was ok. Would recommend it primarily because of its convenient location.

I've stayed here on several occasions both for business and pleasure. This is one of my "go to" hotels when I come to NYC. Excellent location close to Times Square and theaters but also a bit to the side out of the madness. Good restaurants around and also a big gourmet market/grocery right across the street for convenience and to save a few dollars. Great staff. Easy to get around via subway, taxis etc. uptown or downtown.

Great hotel with a perfect location. Great room 908. Clean, comfortable, and big, bathroom ok not massive but all you need. Staff really friendly, especially Ernest who gave us a ticket for a complimentary breakfast, and Donald who sorted our taxi back to the airport (60$). Hotel restaurant amazing, great food and atmosphere. Subway two streets up, really easy to get around. I would definitely stay here again. Nothing too fancy, just nice, easy, friendly kind of place. Shame roof top bar was closed that was the only downside if anything.

Hello there Helen W and thank you so much for a wonderful review! It’s great to know that your enjoyed the hotel location and comfort of our rooms. I will make sure to compliment Donald and Christian on their exceptional service. Roof top bar it’s a separate owned, seasonal venue so maybe if you will be visiting NYC during summer you will get a chance to enjoy the experience.
I hope to welcome you back in the future!
