“Worth Paying for a Stay ANYTIME!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014 via mobile

My wife and I booked this hotel for the peak time on July 4th weekend. The quality of the hotel is absolutely impressive. It was a very busy time and the staff did their best to fill all of our requests amidst an onslaught of other hotel patrons. The one complaint would have to be the restaurant. The bartender could use some customer service lessons and the quality of the buffet could use some TLC because I feel the hotel would be better served if the restaurant quality were improved. If we hadn't received two free buffet tickets because of an electrical issue in our room, we wouldn't have eaten at the hotel restaurant.

Hi Pagandy,

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and the staff were available to assist you with the challenges you experienced in the room. I see that you were not impressed with the restaurant. While they are separately owned and operated we still work to have them maintain the same level of service that Hilton is known for. I will be certain to share your comments with them.

We look forward to welcoming you back and if I can ever be of any assistance please feel free to contact me.

Brought the family to New York to experience the city that never sleeps . Great location, close to everything. Rude staff, blocked toilet 2 days in a row, broken hand basin a tiny room and even smaller bathroom for 4 people was a huge disappointment. Didnt expect this from the Hilton Group, was truly heartsore to end an otherwise perfect vacation in this hotel.

If you want a great place to stay centrally located in midtown,in the theatre district, this could be it. We were greeted by warm and caring staff, which was consistent throughout our stay. Upon checking in, Rachael helped us get a room with a view, since she knew we were celebrating my sisters retirement and birthday. A comfortable room and bed as well. The pull out couch needed clean sheets , and upon calling, we received them quickly. We received a welcome bag with some water and small packages of sweets, which was a surprise! I drove into NYC, and the parking garage is next door, $ 42.00 to park over nite. Easy transportation, trains, buses and taxis right outside your door. You can get breakfast for a fee, which we did not opt for, but there is free Starbucks coffee and tea in the lobby in the morning. The phone service could use improvement, but the concierge was very helpful and even brought us information directly to our room. WOW now that's SERVICE.
I cant say enough about the great staff at the Hilton Garden Inn. Everyone was so helpful and nice to us. I would do it again especially for a midtown hotel, the price was right! Thanks for a beautiful stay to all of you at the Hilton Garden Inn at Times Square.

Room Tip: IF you stay on the higher level floors you could possibly get a room with a better view .

I traveled with a girlfriend to spend a week in the city in April. I do have to say location is important as you need somewhere close to the subways, restaurants , times square and theater. The Garden Inn is that place. It is reasonable for New York, and is maintained and the staff is friendly. Great value for the money although everything in New York is pricey especially hotels. If we go back we will most defiantly stay there again.

Room Tip: Probably the higher floors are better if you want to cut down on noise.

Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for a total of 9 nights in early June 2014 and can honestly say it was a really great experience! The location is perfect for Times Square, there are plenty of good restaurants nearby and the subway is just few minutes walk away if you're travelling a bit further afield. I emailed before our arrival to request a room on an upper floor at the front of the hotel, and we arrived we got exactly that, plus an unexpected welcome gift bag of treats and a personal note of congratulations as were celebrating several special occasions during our trip. All the staff were extremely helpful and the concierge was an excellent source of information. Altogether a very memorable and special holiday - thank you to everyone at the hotel who helped make it extra special for us!

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors are better for less subway/street noise and have much nicer views!

The Hilton Garden Inn Times Square deserves its great TripAdvisor reviews.

Rather than repeating all the good things that have already been said about the hotel, I've listed what I liked most about the hotel below -

1) Location - super central location, close to Times Square, but also close to the great restaurants on Ninth Avenue. Our favourite restaurants from this trip were Ippudo, a great Japanese ramen and small plates restaurant on 51st St b/w 8th and 9th Avenues, and Nippori, which has great sushi on 51st St b/w 7th and 8th Avenues.

2) Super spacious, spotlessly clean and well decorated rooms - as many people have already said, a decent sized room in NYC is rare. So we really appreciated the space. We were in a group spread over three rooms and all of the rooms were equally large. Bathrooms had all the necessary amenities.

3) No frills but very reasonable rates - This hotel doesn't have a restaurant or room service as they don't have a kitchen. But what they do have is a fridge and a microwave. So you can step out and buy cereal, milk, fruit, etc. for breakfast from one of the many places on Eighth Avenue (The Food Emporium seems to be the closest) or go to one of the many diners in the area for breakfast. It seems that this is one way they keep their rates low. I'd rather have that than an average breakfast and room service that I never use included in a higher rate.

Overall, a great base in NYC and at a great price! What's not to like??

Room Tip: All their rooms are equally large. Ask for one that faces West so you can see the sunset.

Good services, good food (breakfast + meals), very good location, good and clean rooms and worth while price! I recommend it! Personally I would say that it doesn't make sense for people to go there just for a travel (because even tough the prices are worth while they are pretty expensive), but for a business travel (But that is my own opinion!)
