“A pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 February 2012

This hotel is a rare find in the confines of Manhattan; it offers LARGE rooms at a very reasonable price. The hotel was clean, well updated and a great location and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I stayed there for a week on business and was very happy with all aspects of the accommodations. I would recommend it to families or business travelers.

Room Tip: The higher floors at the front of the hotel offer a view of the East RIver.

We stayed here one night and were upgraded because my husband is a platinum member.

The room was large and spacious however the curtains were broken and the air-conditioning didn't seem to be working properly. There were buildings outside our windows so the broken curtains meant that we didn't have much privacy.

The lobby is basic however the business centre was well equipped and spacious.

The location was good however it was too expensive for what it was.

I stayed solo at this hotel while visiting a friend in NYC, the location was perfect, in Midtown Manhattan. It's close to great bars, restaurants and attractions. The hotel room is large for a NYC hotel, my room had a king bed, sofa and desk, plenty of room. The only downside was that there was no mini-bar, room service or a bar in the hotel, so after breakfast, if you need a drink or snack, you have to leave the hotel or scout out the vending machine. You can't beat the bargain, I paid only $179 for a Saturday night on superbowl weekend. This hotel is a no-brainer!

I am a bit late writing this but better late than never.
I cannot fault this hotel. It is clean, staff are friendly and helpful. Food is great.
We stayed here over new year and was wonderful.
Would stay here again.

Stayed at the Courtyard in early February, and was pleasantly surprised. Got a good rate online, and the room size was enormous for NYC standards, with large bathroom, working area, and couch, which is hard to find in NYC. Rest of the hotel is pretty solid with quick elevators, a decent gym, and a breakfast area (although the buffet was overpriced at $20/person.) Definitely recommend this place.

Stayed 1 night.

Great location and value. Large room for New York. Had 2 queen beds and 1 pull-out sofa bed in my room. 2 Queen beds in a room are a rarity in Manhattan. Very comfortable beds.

Convenient location for walking to FAO Schwarz, Rockefeller Center, Times Square and other places in Manhattan. Safe location and close to restaurants, drug stores, etc.

Clean rooms and friendly service from front desk staff as well as concierge. Front lobby is small and narrow but I'd much rather have a nice hotel room than lobby.

Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

As our first time to New York and travelling as a family of 5 adults we found the hotel to be clean, warm, friendly and in a great location. The hotel room was plenty big enough for 5 adults and the fridge and complimentary tea/coffee and toiletries were an added bonus. We were not disturbed by any noise at night. I would definitely recommend the hotel for large families. As we had not travelled to NY before we were concerned at how many Taxis we would need from the airport as we were told yellow cabs only take 4 people, however the taxi rank also has alot of people carriers so no worries there and the cost was $55 from JFK to Manhattan,

The only thing to be wary of is the concierge who expect to be tipped all the time. On our last day we wanted a taxi for 5 which they said they could not book but could get us a limo, which was 3 times the price of a taxi. We said no and went out for breakfast, on the way back we managed to flag a people carrier down and went back to the hotel to collect our cases - these had apparently been moved from the reception storage to a room on the top floor and there was a queue of people before us waiting. When we got $10 out we were all of a sudden at the front of the queue! That was the only niggle of the holiday.

Room Tip: Room allocated on 17th floor was perfectly adequate
