My partner & I came to NYC to celebrate our 10 year anniversary! From reading reviews on Tripadvisor, I had emailed the hotel in advance and requested a corner room (apparently bigger) on a high floor (amazing views & quieter). I was emailed back by Brittany who reserved us room 1104 which not only was all of the above but had a balcony too! Upon arrival we met Brittany in person who sent us up a complimentary bottle of chilled wine in an ice bucket with a congratulations card! What a great start to our stay!
Rooms are striking and funkily styled! Cleaned beautifully daily.
On the tenth floor there is a guest lounge with complimentary tea and coffee all day long as well as computers, complimentary Wi-Fi for tablets and laptops. Take a walk out onto the terrace there and you have prime viewing of the Empire State Building! You may have breakfast there as well each morning.
We asked at reception and were provided with hotel bathrobes for our stay. Great for a coffee on the balcony in the morning!
The only thing missing is a bar but the hotel goes someway to compensate for this by having complimentary wine served between 17.00 & 19.00 on weeknights in the main reception.
The area is fantastic with lots of great restaurants and bars nearby. Try Taproom 307 just down the road for a flight of beers and pulled pork. Nearby is the Gramercy Tavern - a really hot place to go and eat in right now and <apparently> one of the top ten restaurants in NYC at the moment. We had fantastic breakfasts out in the nearby "Lyric Diner" plus "Friend of the Farmer" on Irving Place. Go for cocktails at nearby Jade Bar in the Gramercy Park Hotel!
Union Square & the Flatiron building are a short walk away.
I would absolutely stay here again. Special thanks to Brittany who went out of her way to make our stay memorable.
