“Friendly, clean, and comfortable”

My teenager and I just spend several days in NYC and the Hotel Metro was a great place for our headquarters. The Art Deco look and feel, friendly and helpful staff, clean and nicely appointed room, and the helpful cleaning service were all high points. The hotel is located on the same block as the Herald Square subway station which was very convenient. We had a couple of small problems with our room and the staff acted to immediately solve the problems. The continental breakfast is a nice touch with good bagels and there is FREE wireless throughout the hotel. A good value hotel with character.

Room Tip: Ask for 2 double beds rather than a double room.

Having being moved here from the original hotel we stayed at we didnt know what to expect.. what a brilliant little oasis.

The hotel is located right round the corner from the empire state building, Macys and a few blocks from Times square..They have a brilliant conceirge service very helpful and on check out will look after your bags while you take your last look round the city. We were very lucky to be upgraded to a suite. With 2 queen sized beds in the main room and a seperate bedroom with a further queen size bed. You have your own mini fridge to store drinks after all your sight seeing. They have a roof top terrace for fantastic pictures of the empire state and to top it all off had a fantastic breakfast.. continental but had lots of different bagels, muffins and cereals.

They offer room service and a laundry service. I intened on returning to new york again and will be staying here..

Tip: If you visit central park be sure to get a horse and carraige. Our driver was Jazz! really knows his stuff.

Room Tip: They even have a hairdressers!

We had two family rooms: 3 adults & 3 teenagers. Everyone had their own space. Very nice. Only complaint would be the noise outside overnight as the room faced the street. The Bellman, Matthew, was always helpful and knew when one of us was missing from the group.

We stayed at this hotel for five nights. Location was great close to Macy's and Empire State Building. Room and Bathroom was very small. Staff were very friendly but noise from the street was very loud and you could hear everyone on the corridor outside the room. The most disappointing thing was when we went to have our breakfast and they had paper plates, paper bowls. paper cups and plastic knives. forks and spoons which was very unhygienic as everyone was handling the plates, cups etc to separate them.
We would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning to this hotel again

I booked my whole trip with BA and selected this hotel as it was one of the cheapest and got a good review from a friend of mine who had stayed there.

We got there at 1pm and was told we could check in as our room was ready. Lovely room. It was just the right size for our stay. Double bed, bedside cabinet one side and a dressing table the other, window, small chair, large TV, wardrobe area, safe and fridge in room. Small clean bathroom, toilet, sink, shower and large mirror. We stayed 4 nights and was hardly in the room so it was just right. There was a lot of building work going on in the building next door but I guess that can't be helped and they were finished by the time we had got back each day.

Breakfasts were good. Toasts, bagels, pastries, cereals, yogurt, fruit and tea, coffee and hot choc avalaible. Coffee and tea was then available throughtout the day to help yourself.

Excellent location on 35th Street so you were right in the middle of where you wanted to be with the Empire State Building and Macy's in the next street.

Great vfiews of the Empire State Builidng from the roof terrace.

We ate in the Metro Grill one night - portions were good. A little pricey as I could have had TGI's for the same price but still very nice.

Myself and 3 friends stayed here last week. We loved it. Beautiful Art Deco hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff, we have experienced rude off handed staff at other New York hotels in the past. Very nice complimentary breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel. Yes there is building work going on next door, but not the fault of the hotel.

Room Tip: There is a nice bar attached to the hotel.

We booked our trip through Virgin Holidays and selected Hotel Metro based on location and price. On arriving at the hotel we received a warm welcome at reception and were swiftly checked in and given our room key. Our room was large and had the most comfortable beds i think i have ever slept in !My teenage daughter loved the i pod docking station and the free WiFi available throughout the hotel , we also had a big flat screen TV with loads of channels. The hotel has a fantastic location, minutes from Macys and the shops on 34th Street, 5t Avenue is just around the corner and Times Square just 10 minutes away. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast , a great selection of muffins, bagels, toast, fruit, yoghurt etc were available something to please everyone and tea and coffee are offered 24hrs a day free of charge. All hotel staff we met were extremely friendly and keen to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. I would defintately recommend the Metro to anyone looking to visit New York and look forward to staying there again myself in the future.
