The hotel was really clean and the double room was lovely.Linen was changed every day along with the towels, housekeeping staff really helpful..The view unfortunately was awful as it looked out onto a building site on the right and more rooms opposite ! with nothing in between.Breakfast was really good but get in early so you don't get the 9am rush'good selection of bread, pastries etc along with teas coffee , hot chocolate and jucies. The down side of the Hotel was some of the staff. ,unhelpful to say the least especially the concierge who was very unwilling to either give directions or give you a map.The doorman Mathew however was wonderful and helped my daughter and I with Taxis etc.Very close to Times Square and Maceys. Overall great location and safe area...

Room Tip: Ask where it is before signing for it !! A/c was noisy in our room (414)

Great hotel and would recommend B&B. Bagels, muffins, Danish and toast with coffee and tea by the bucket load. Perfect location just a block from Empire State Building and Macy's and walking distance to a lot of the 'must sees'!! The concierge is very helpful for advice etc. Rooms are fairly spacious and the bathroom had a great multi shower/wet room. Would stay here again.

Second time here for us, and hotel has got better in the meantime. friendly courteous staff, nothing was any trouble for them. Great breakfast and limitless coffee and tea available. We loved having a cocktail on the roof terrace, looking at the Empire State. Our family room was excellent, very good value. Location is a great feature, apart from the slightly scruffy street, with the subway, Macy's, and Times Sq an easy walk. High Line and Madison Sq Garden not too far either.

This was our third visit to the Hotel Metro and it's still my first choice to stay at whilst in New York.
We had one of the premier rooms on the 11th floor. The room was of average size but was tastefully decorated and the Queen size bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side but did feature a wonderful walk in shower that had three different shower heads! The hotel serves a complimentary continental breakfast but the room its served in does get extremely busy around 8.30 am but a lot quieter after 9.00 am. There is always tea and coffee available in this area all day but if you have a premier room you will also get a coffee maker in your room. We found the staff at the hotel to be friendly and courteous - especially Matthew on the front door! The hotel's location means its easy to reach a lot of New York's attractions and shopping areas on foot but otherwise there is a subway station about 200 yards from the hotel. Rooms that face the road do suffer a little noise from the traffic but you quickly get used to it. Overall, a great hotel and don't miss the roof top terrace with its great views of the Empire State Building!

Room Tip: Rooms that face the road will suffer from noise from the traffic outside so if this is likely to be...

We have just enjoyed a five night stay at this perfectly located hotel. The staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful. Having the complimentary breakfast is an added bonus, as are the hot drinks which are available. Definitely a hotel I would recommend. :-)

We have just returned to the UK from our honeymoon where we spent four nights at the Hotel Metro. It was a great hotel which I would recommend to anyone that is planning a trip to New York. We were around the corner from Macy's, a five minute walk to Times Square and had great access to the Subway on the corner of the block. Our room was quite small, but was really comfortable - the shower was great. Exactly what you need after a long day of sight seeing! We loved the roof top bar with a fantastic view of the Empire State Building. Even though the bar didn't open until 5pm, we were able to get a drink from the restaurant in the hotel and go and sit up there to enjoy the view. The complimentary breakfast was great - lots of muffins, pastries and bagels. The staff were really helpful. We had to be at JFK for a flight at 5am, and the concierge made sure there was a cab outside the front door waiting for as at 4.15am. As we were celebrating our honeymoon, the staff also arranged for a bottle of bubbly on ice in our room when we arrived which we were really grateful for. If I was planning a return trip to New York, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: We were in room 801. It was quite small and didn't have a view of anything other than an apartme...

Clean rooms, excellent breakfast, ideal location.Just 10 mins walk from Times Square.
ESB in next street and great view from the bar on top of this hotel.
Plenty of modern Irish bars nearby but if you want atomsphere get yourself to McSorleys Bar, the oldest bar in NYC.
Get a inner room at high level away from the street if you want a good nights sleep.

Room Tip: Do not get room facing steet level as noise is continuous and binmen are there at 4 in the morning e...
