Very central location in mid-town so handy for getting around to all the sights, especially with a subway station at the end of the street and buses running along 5th Avenue nearby. Very close to Macy's, Empire State and Times Square so good for Broadway.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, one of the refurbished ones with a decent bathroom and overhead shower. Tea/coffee maker provided in room. Staff helpful.

Great Irish bars a few steps away especially O'Reilly's so handy for good value food too and happy hour cocktails. Need to travel further afield for fancier eating places, but taxis are always passing so easy to get across town. Self-service breakfast is plentiful although feels a little MacDonalds with paper plates and plastic cutlery so you might want to venture out occasionally for a change from bagels/cereals (suggestion: might be good to offer muesli in your cereal selection).

Thank you for a great fun week in New York.

Very well located for Grand Central and Penn stations, subway, and also mid-town. Our room was comfortable and very clean. However, overall our stay was average and certainly let down by very poor, limited choice breakfast served with disposable plates, cups and cutlery like a bad fastfood restaurant. We wouldn't stay again as there are better choices in NYC.

Fantastic stay yet again at the Hotel Metro. Great hotel Great Location & Great staff! The reviews on here speak for themselves and even as the hotel has grown in popularity this has not effected the standards. Book it now, its worth the money!

Room Tip: Contemporary Double Double much bigger

Location is important and this hotel didn't disappoint as the subway entrance was literally a minute to the right of the hotel entrance (Herald Sq. - which is in midtown and at the southern end of Broadway and across from Macy's). Location wasn't the only plus for this hotel; the hotel was clean and the staff welcoming, a plentiful continental breakfast was available to all but if a cooked breakfast is preferred, there is a co-located restaurant onsite (access from both lobby and street), but external dining possibilities are endless near-by. Back to location - make sure you go to the roof top area, the view of the Empire State was breathtaking just a block or two away.

Room Tip: Try to aim for a room 8th floor or above to limit the NYC street noise.

We stayed for three nights and were really impressed by this hotel. It appears to have been recently refurbished with a welcoming reception and very helpful staff including the concierge. Room was ideal and really appreciated the complimentary coffee available all day in the breakfast room. Roof top gave spectacular views of the Empire State building. The location couldn't have been better for easy access to so much of the City. I have already recommended this hotel to friends. On a review I often like to add a comment on how something could be improved but this is a good 'value for money' hotel in a great location ideal for exploring.

Room Tip: The higher the better - as helps minimise the outside city noises.

We have just spent the last 5 nights in this hotel and we loved it. The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful, the room was perfect with a fantastic shower which was much appreciated after a long day exploring the city. The bar and restaurant are both good, the food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff recommended daily specials which both of us chose and they were 10/10. The roof top bar wasn't open at this time of year but you could still go up their 24 hours a day and the view of Empire State Building and Macy's was brilliant. You are in a perfect spot to explore the city we did it all on foot and can't recommend that enough as we found so many little gems hidden down streets you maybe wouldn't see otherwise. You do get some street noise at night but you are in a city that never sleeps so thats to be expected and the beds are that comfy that it doesn't bother you - we will be staying here when we next visit NYC.

Spent a few nights here with my niece on our first trip to new york. Firstly, the location is FAB! Round the corner from the ESB, Macy's at the end of the road, a 10 minute stroll to Times Square and Broadway, and 15 mins in the other direction to Grand Central Station and Bloomingdales. The hotel itself was lovely, the roof terrace was amazing with the view for the ESB. I was disappointed when booking the room as all the 'double doubles' were full, so we were told we would have a twin... but being America even the twin beds were the same as the UK doubles so the room was spacious, comfortable and certainly value for money. The only let down on this hotel was the breakfast. There was toast, muffins and danishes, yoghurt and cereal which was basic but sufficient. The issue was the amount of room. On two mornings we had to take our breakfast up to our room as all the seats were full. It would have been nice to have been offered pancakes or something hot and to have had the room to enjoy breakfast. But this does not put me off returning again as the location was amazing. Staff were really helpful and friends.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 4th floor, no view but very quiet.
