we booked this hotel through trailfinders and were pleased with our choice. The room was spacious and clean with comfy beds and although the window overlooked the yard that meant it was quieter . The staff were helpful especially the doorman matthew who organised a yellow cab to get us to the airport on a wet afternoon with no delay.Breakfast was a bit of a bunfight with only a few tables but breakfast was fine and saved us purchasing food out. A good location close to maceys and the empire state building. We pre booked a grayline hopper bus ticket which saved us lots on entrance and subway costs, All in all a great holiday.

We came to this hotel on a recommendation. As there were three adults it was difficult to find a hotel for one room with three beds but this hotel has a two bedroom family room. The price was a lot cheaper than other hotels that other people were recommending. Therefore based on the price, pictures, breakfast being included and location we decided to book the hotel. We certainly were not disappointed on arrival. We received a warm welcome at 1pm. Our room wasn't ready but that gave us the opportunity to go on the roof top bar and see the Empire State Building. We requested a room looking at the empire state building as we were there celebrating my mum's 60th birthday and the room did not disappoint us. We had a room with three double beds in which one of them was in a separate bedroom. The hotel was a great base to travel uptown, downtown and you were able to walk to Time Square and to all the midtown attractions! Also the hotel is only a short walk to Penn station to take you or bring you from JFK airport.

Stayed here for 6 nights in April the rooms are very small but yup really only shower and sleep and it's spotless.reception staff were very helpful and there is a room to store your bags if you have to check out early and fly later. The hotel is a stones throw from Macy's and 5 mins walk to times sq.the comp breakfast is just enough to set you on your way for the day serving toast bagels, muffins, cereals, yogurt, fruit, tea coffee and juice. We made use of the free tea and coffee available 24 hrs each time we popped in and out of the hotel. The rooftop view of the Empire State Building in the evening is breathtaking and well worth a visit.fab hotel very clean good staff and Central couldn't ask for more. We will stay here again for sure.

We stayed here for 4 nights in April 2014. We booked a premier queen room on the 10th floor. The room itself was smaller than I expected , but was always clean and made up. Good amenities in the room, but was a little small. Free continental breakfast was okay , but the staff in the dining room could be a bit abrupt, bordering on rude at times. They were very strict on breakfast times, finished at 10am not a minute later !! All other staff in the hotel were fantastic and very helpful. Roof terrace was good and hotel bar was good, typical city prices, and the location was superb right in the shadow of the empire state building !Generally a good place to stay, a few minor issues but nothing serious.

The first thing you notice is how friendly, welcoming and attentive the staff are. Always willing to go the extra mile by opening doors, and having a chat and seeming genuinely interested in you. They even changed our room for us after a first noisy night in a street front room and as we were leaving the hotel for the weekend and returning the following week again, they remembered this and made sure when we came back our new room wasn't at the front of the hotel.

This was our first visit to New York. We'd gone to visit our son who emigrated there last year. He came to meet us at the hotel most days and the staff got to know who he was and made him very welcome.

Our first room was quite small, but big enough, with a very comfy bed that seemed massive compared to the one we have at home! There wasn't a lot of storage for toiletries in the bathroom but there was more than enough space to keep my extra toiletries in the room. Breakfast buffet was basic but more than enough although the butter was stored amongst ice cubes so was too hard to spread on your toast! Once we'd discovered this we got our butter first so that it was usable by the time we'd got around to the toast. We had a wonderful evening meal in the adjoining restaurant. The hotel is decorated in the Art Deco style, which makes it different from others and has lovely 1920's music piped around the public areas.

The roof top terrace is a wonderful bonus with the Empire State being so close you can almost touch it! There's also a gym, if you feel the need, a hair salon on the second floor and a meeting room which was ideal for using the computer to print out return flight tickets.

As it's not one of the larger hotels, only having 12 floors, it makes it feel more homely and welcoming and you're not just another face at the front desk, like in some bigger hotels.

Tea and coffee is free and unlimited down in the lounge/ TV area.

We left baggage with the hotel while we had a few days up in Washington and stored it again on our last day as we had a night flight. Glenn, one of the door men, organised our airport taxi for us, and Matthew, another doorman always had good tourist information to give to us.

This hotel is in one of the busiest, noisiest parts of Manhattan, but I would certainly use it again and recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street as there is constant noise from traffic and people.

I stayed here for a long weekend city break with my mum, we had a twin room which was really big, 2 double beds, all very clean and to high standards. Breakfast is included and is brilliant as you can set yourself up for the day without having to go and find breakfast. Toast, cereals, muffins, bagels, and hot drinks are also served all day for free. The roof top bar terrace was closed during our visit as we were out of season, but you could still go on to the terrace for an amazing view of the Empire State Building. The hotels location is the best thing, it is so central to absaluetly everywhere. We caught the sky train from the airport to Penn and then the hotel was a 5 minute walk from the station. The Empire State building and Times Square are both and easy walk ... and so is central park. Macy's and various other shops are accross the road, and the area is clean and safe. The staff at the hotel were at all times helpful and friendly, and I could not fault any aspect of our stay. I would definately stay here if I came to NY again.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 8th floor and at the back of the hotel. It was really quiet at night and didnt s...

We only stayed here one night as we arrived in NY a day earlier than planned & we were then moving across to the Comfort Inn across the road for 4 nights.
The room was a queen room but it was quite small (it was on the 2nd floor next to the salon & business centre) there was not much room to move around but fine for a base for 1 night. The main problem was that it faced out on to the back of the hotel (although difficult to tell as the windows were covered with frosted plastic, so we couldn't see out & which made the room very dark) this is where all the air conditioning systems & other noisy things are, so all night it was noisy and difficult to sleep, I had ear plugs but it was still noisy. Off course we didn't realise this until night time by which it would have been too late to ask to be moved.
It was nice to have to roof terrace to see the Empire State Building and the breakfast was nice plus it is in a very central location but apart from that the cost of £189 for 1 night was not worth it.
I have to say the Comfort Inn where we stayed afterwards was much better - we had a queen room there too and lots of space & a quieter room even though we were facing the street.

Room Tip: Ask for one high up!
