“Best location, and lovely staff :)”
Reviewed 28 August 2014

Just returned from a NYC / Vegas trip, and loved this hotel! The location couldn't have been better - 2 seconds from Macy's, down the road from times square, right next to lots of restaurants and bars - perfect!
The staff were lovely, and they booked a cab for our return to the airport - we also bought our statue of liberty boat tickets from them which was a good idea because the queue when you get there is pretty big.
The rooftop bar looks really nice, and though we only had time to pop up there because it closes at 10/11 (I think) so we didn't have a drink there.
The whole hotel has an old school american feel, and it is so clean!!
The breakfast is great, there's cereal, HUGE muffins and bagels, as well as coffee and hot chocolate - It is self service in a kind of lounge which is nice :)

100% recommend the Metro - loved it!!

After much searching we plumbed for the hotel metro an a little jem it was Art Deco in style just off 35th street and 5th av ten min stroll from time square and penn st subway station and right by Macy's if you fancy a bit of shopping ... Our room was a premier queen room very comfortable on floor 12 and came with a superb shower room big enough for 2 people and free tea and coffee was available in our room as it was in the rest of the hotel as was the wifi . A continental breakfast was included which is unusual in hotel in NYC + for $5.95 you could have a full American/ English cooked breakfast and very nice it was as well . The hotel bar and grill drinks were slightly expensive but what hotel bar isn't although the roof top bar and grill was closed for renovation you could take your drinks upto the rooftop which was great especially at night as it over looked the Empire State Building which is lit up at night .. We plan on going back to New York one day and will definitely use this hotel .

Stayed here for 3 nights. We were upgraded to a premier room at the 10th floor, with 2 double beds. Breakfast was very good considering it is free. There were a variety of muffins, breads, yoghurt, milk, tea, coffee, orange and apple juices, fruits, spreads and cereals. Very good location, walking distance to the 34th St. Herald Station, Macy's and the Empire State Building is a street behind the hotel. Shops near the hotel include Victoria's Secret, Uniqlo, JC Penny, etc. There is a hop on hop off bus stop near the hotel (Empire State Bldg. stop). A lot of restaurants and fastfood (McDo, Burger King) are also available at a walking distance.

What's not to like about this hotel?! A fantastic location, beautiful, clean rooms, friendly, helpful staff (especially James)...and at an incredibly reasonable price! Did I mention the beautiful rooftop bar? With the breathtaking view of the Empire State? My other half and I stopped by for our anniversary - we couldn't have been happier to have picked such a wonderful hotel! Not only did they upgrade us when we arrived (always a lovely surprise!), but we also received a complimentary bottle of champagne! What a welcome to New York!! Will definitely come back again!

This was chosen by my husband & I for many reasons, including the central location & the breakfast! We really wanted "just a base", but it was so much more
You could get coffee & tea all day. There was a gorgeous restaurant attached & the decor was all "Art Deco" style. Which was so lovely. The staff were exceedingly nice & helpful

I booked this hotel because of the good reviews on trip advisor. We had a premier room on the 10th floor facing the Empire State Building. The room was very nice, comfy beds and quiet. Continental breakfast was a bonus to start your day. Bagels were delicious! The ladies that were maintaining the breakfast area were very kind. The only complaint was when we arrived at the hotel the lady at the front desk, not sure of her name, was snotty, rude and not much help. We ate at the Metro Grill, food was good but we waited half hour for our dessert to come out, not sure if they were baking the cake or what. The restaurant wasn't even full. I would go back again cause of the location, free wifi and nice renovated rooms. We loved the rain shower head!

We stayed here to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel
upgraded our room to suite and left a bottle of bubbly in our room. The room was comfortable and clean and the hotel was an oasis of peace away from the hustle and bustle of the streets below.

The hotel was close to Macy's. On our last day we headed towards the Flatiron building area and wished we had done it earlier in the visit as there were interesting shops and the area was a lot quieter.

The roof terrace was great to sit and enjoy the view.

The complementary breakfast was just what you needed to set you up for the day. There is a door near where the drinks are that leads to another breakfast room this was generally quieter than the other rooms and had dining tables and chairs.

I would certainly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
