“affordable, very well located”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 December 2013

Just spent 5 nights there. When i was looking for hotels in manhattan i got shocked because of rates for a decent accomodation in manhattan but after looking for weeks I found this hotel and couldnt believe how affordable is for its location plus breakfast and wifi included. The hotel is not fancy. Rooms and bathrooms are small but very clean. Breakfast was good for charging batteries and then hitting the city and wifi was very fast. We really didnt have any problem at hotel. Bar at roof is a bit tiny but good vibe when its not raining/snowing (empire state building top view included). Hotel is in the middle of everything! In same block you have a subway stop and two blocks away Penn Station and Manhattan Mall. Did I mention there are plenty of restaurants and stores nearby? Its on 32nd west st between 5th and 6th avenue. And yes...its really just one block away from empire state building. I would def recommend this hotel. Ill stay here next time.
On the other hand, the restaurant is small and most of times is very busy for breakfast time. You better wake up early or when its almost over (around 10 am). Lobby was under remodeling so you see workers in and out along the day but what hotel should really improve is elevators, since hotel is always busy it can take you looong time getting to your room or lobby. Two elevators is NOT enough when hotel is all booked plus they are sloow.

The location on West 32nd Street was the reason we selected this hotel plus the room rate was reasonable (for New York City). We had driven to New York City to see Elton John in concert on December 3 and this hotel is just a couple of blocks from Madison Square Gardens, where the concert was held. It was fairly easy to find even for soemone who was driving in New York CIty for the first time. Easy to get from and back to the Lincoln Tunnel. The rooms are on the small side without being cramped; we had a king size bed and space enough to move around and the room was very clean. There is renovation work in progress in the lobby but that did not affect us, other than making it necessary to walk down the corridor a little way to get the complementary breakfast. While not gourmet the breakfast items were fresh and there was plenty available. We suggest you use the valet parking option and pay the little extra. By the time you pull up in front of the hotel the nearest (and most suitable) parking garage is behind you and going the wrong way on a one way street. We would stay at this La Quinta again; overall good value and a very good location.

We have just recently stayed at this hotel which was excellent value for money. The reception staff were so helpful and obliging. Also the rate included breakfast which saved looking for somewhere to eat. The rooms have all been refurnished.

I have traveled to the city a few times. I usually stay in NJ and drive in. This time I found this little jem. Our room while small was great. It served its pupose for the amount of time we were in it. It had a comfy KING bed. It was very clean. The bathroom was nice and clean with a great shower. It had an iron and board even though space was a little tight I was able to use it. I had an easy check in and valet service for my car. As some reviewers have said it has slow cramped elevators. The breakfast room was a little cramped as well. They are under some reconstuction so you have to concider that. The breakfast was limited, but hey it is Continental breakfast. It is suppose to be simple, quick and easy. Yes I have seen better and far worse. For me a quick cup of coffee and a bagel and cream cheese was enough. ( GOOD BAGELS) My check in and out staff were very pleasant and helpful. I will be staying here again and again. The Hotel is only 1/2 block to the subway easy quick trip to Times Square and to the Theatre District The only reason I take off points on this review is because of the constuction going on right now. I am sure when I return this summer things will be completed.

In fact it was my first experience in New York thought travel and tour arrangements done by Thomas Cook India. First I was knowing where the switches and how to turn taps in bathrooms. Other few tour friends did not know even to enter the room with electronic keys given. One of best services I found was that some room helpers came and helped them to open and enter. one guy even told me how to turn the taps on and where are the switchs. All iternal requirements coffee making beds nd notings in every item and contact numbers were prominently displayed. Very needy requirement of hot water was avialble any time. This was eye opener for various other hotels to stay during another few days! I thank Marriot Group and staff helping tourists like me.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and sunny

I will say the rooms are small but clean. The linens are not best quality but again clean. The mattress felt like it was a 8 in foam mattress, not too comfortable for me. The breakfast room is still under remodel so breakfast is eaten at small tables crowded into the lobby area. Every time the doors open and close a burst of cold wind runs through you. The breakfast is included but is very minimal. 3 cereal choices, hard boiled eggs only and toast, donuts or bagels. Coffee is available served in very small styrofoam cups. Front desk service was nice one day, poor the next. If your looking for a clean place to sleep, then for the price this is fine.
