“Great Area, Great People, Love It!”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

I walked in around 2pm and they had a room ready for me. The service was great and it actually reminded me of the Comfort Inn that used to be on W46th and 7th. Easy to get to, but the over crowded sidewalks of Little Korea (which is just that one street) leaves you frustrated trying to get there. The lobby is very clean and modern, but lovely all the same.
I checked in and went up to the room and the room was pretty small. It was at the end of the hall so I was basically in a closet. sandwiched between two rooms. The view was like any lower level floor hotel room in NYC walls and alley ways.

The room was very clean and efficient. The bed was very soft, not bouncy, and comfortable. You will definitely get a good nights sleep here.

There are local restaurants and all for you to enjoy as well.
For the price at the time, it's a great hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the street (if you you want a view), If you want quiet take a room facing away...

The last 3 trips that I have taken to NYC I have reserved a room at this hotel. It is in a great location on West 32nd St in an area called "Little Korea". The street itself lives up to its name with several Korean restaurants. It is located close to Macy's, the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden. The subway is also close by so you can get anywhere in the city quickly. Time Square and Broadway are a nice walk or a quick subway ride away. The streets surrounding the hotel have many nice restaurants and bars so you don't have to go very far for some fun and to experience NYC.

The hotel itself has had a nice little facelift. The rooms are compact but comfortable. We don't spend a lot of time in the room in NYC when we are there anyway. The top floor has a nice little bar with a great view of the Empire State Building. The entry lobby is compact, like most hotels of this type and our experience has been easy check-in and out. If you are driving there is a parking garage conveniently on the street. The hotel also offers a breakfast, but there is a nice breakfast/sandwich place just down the street called Speedy's.

I find if you can book ahead you can get a room for under $200/night. Where else can you stay in the heart of NYC for under $200/night? This hotel is definitely worth checking out and a great value.

Room Tip: Book ahead to get the best values!

This hotel met all the criteria - great location close to Empire State Building, Penn Station, subway stations, and Macy's; extremely clean and comfortable room; friendly, helpful staff; nice breakfast area with plentiful seating; public computers in lobby and wifi throughout the hotel; reasonable price for the location and amenities. We will definitely stay again. Some people have mentioned the slow elevators; this is a non-issue - at busy times, you will have to wait a couple of minutes, but that's the case anywhere you go. Overall, this hotel far exceeded our expectations.

This hotel is in a great location, offers a free continental breakfast, and is affordable according to NYC standards. Our room had two queen beds and was roomier than most NYC hotels. During our entire stay, the hotel itself and our room was consistently clean and well kept and it was very quiet at night. The Empire State Building is on the next block, a subway station at the end of the street, and both a CVS and Walgreens within walking distance. There is a rooftop bar that has a great view of the Empire State Building as well. If you read the plaque on the outside of the hotel you discover that is also has a notable history behind it.
The staff was pleasant for the most part with some more helpful than others. You can store your luggage if you arrive early or are leaving late which is a big plus. The doorman was extremely nice and helpful.
For improvement: change up the breakfast menu so it is not the same every day and improve upon the internet connection. That was a nightmare and we had to reconnect at least once a day, sometimes successfully and sometimes not. Even the desk's connections were often not working to process things.
Overall, it worked out for us and I would still recommend the hotel because of its ideal location and its rates.

We stayed here one night before we left on a cruise then returned for another 4 nights before leaving the city. Our first night's room was so tiny we had to climb over the suitcase to get to the bathroom. Even though we confirmed our reservations before we left for our cruise, when we returned the staff told us our reservation had been cancelled because we didn't return their phone call. I told them we were in the middle of the ocean. The front desk staff told me we could have a queen room not the king I had reserved and my rate would be $400.00 per night no the $269.00 I had book. I believe the hotel had wanted to fill the room with a higher rated guest since it was fleet week and graduations, the city was packed with people. After much arguing with the management, we did get a room. This hotel is in the middle of Korea Town and is Extremely loud with sirens numerous times a night. The neighborhood is very dirty. I would NEVER stay at this location again and I would never advise anyone to stay at this location. It is to bad because we always stay at La Quintas and this location is the only one where we have had a bad experience.

Room Tip: The only tip I have to choose a good room is to stay at another Hotel..

Just back from a 7 night stay at La Quinta 32nd Street. Lovely hotel with great staff. We stayed in Room 510 and it was all that we needed. A good sized room with 2 double beds - the beds were amazingly comfortable and the room was very clean with good air conditioning. The only negatives I could mention was that the bathroom was very small and the lifts were extremely slow but that's not going to ruin your stay. The hotel was in the perfect location just round from both the Empire State Building and Macys. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Midtown - you wont be disappointed.

Room Tip: Our room wasn't at the front of the building which meant it was very quiet at night.

What a location on Herald Sq in Korea town,3min to Macy's.1min to subway, restaurants every where and around the corner from the empire State building. Clean hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are small but who is spending much time in your room, your in NY.Penn station is only a 5min walk away. Broadway at one end of the street and 5th ave the other end.. A great price for its local.
