“Very pleasant surprise....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 October 2008

This hotel was the best one I stayed in on my Cleveland, Oh to San Diego, Ca trip. It was very clean, the bed was wonderful, the supplies in the room (kleenex, TP, etc.) were top notch (name brands even!!...No sandpaper tissue!!).

I was very tired and sore from my trip and got a wonderful nights sleep. Even slept through breakfast!!

The rooms are a little dark, but compact flourescents will do that. I appreciate the fact they are using them and saving electricity. There are plenty of lamps, though.

This one is worth stopping at.

I selected this motel because of the reviews on Trip Advisor.
Generally, I agree with the majority of reviewers and find the accomodations recommended good or excellent. This place, however, falls most definitely into the "low average" category. The room was dark. The beds were comfortable with enough pillows for reading or watching television. Lighting was very dim, however. The pool was clean, but the jacuzzi was cloudy and needed some sort of chemical treatment to clean it up. However, my biggest complaint was the breakfast. I wonder if I was at the same place as the other reviewers who liked this breakfast? The breakfast room itself is in a separate building in the back of the motel. It was very crowded the morning I was there--every table was filled. There was no room to walk between the tables from the buffet area to a seat. You had to ask people to get up so you could pass by. The food selections were minimal. The eggs and bacon were barely warm. There was no butter for toast , only plastic "spread" . Very unappetizing and less than ordinary. There was a jar for TIPS. Why? Everyone had to wait on themselves, brave the crowd at the tables to get a piece of toast or a serving of cold eggs. Maybe I just hit an off day or one that was particularly crowded, but it was definitely not a pleasant breakfast experience.

  • Liked — Lots of pillows on the beds.
  • Disliked — Cold breakfast, cold jacuzzi.

We arrived after a long day of driving and were not able to get a really inexpensive room but they had the suite available. We took it as we had been camping for several days. The rate was fantastic for a one bedroom, full kitchen and a living room with a fold out queen bed ($137 with AAA discount). Both the bedroom and the living room had tv's. The King-sized bed in the bedroom was so comfortable and the bathroom was plenty big enough. To top it off there was a truly full breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, toast of all sorts, cereals, coffee, juices, milk, and big fat waffles) with plenty with very helpful people there to greet and serve. It felt like we were at a kind auntie and uncle's house. I will certainly be staying with The Abbey Inn family again with my own family or even with just my husband. We will be checking them out in the winter, too because they have stay and ski packages for Brian Head.

  • Liked — The wonderful full breakfast in the morning and very comfortable bed.

didn't know what to expect because this hotel was listed as a 2 star but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room. It was right off the highway, very clean, extremely comfortable beds, good size bathroom and good hot breakfast (eggs, bacon, waffles, etc.) included. All this for $74 + tax. I'd stay there again any time.

We stayed at the Abbey Inn from May 8-13, 2008.

The room was clean with all the typical amenities, two queen beds, desk, table, fridge, micro, coffee maker, hair dryer, etc.

The complementary breakfast was very good and included scrambled eggs, bacon, link sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, bagels, bread, muffins, waffles (make yourself), fruit, hot and cold cereal and all the typical beverages. They did have yogurt, but maybe they only have that during the week, because we did not seen any after the first few days of our stay.

They only problem we had was that the water from the shower would run down the shower head onto the floor.

The hotel is about equal distance from both Zion and Bryce Canyon, which is nice if you'd like to see both parks (1.5 hrs)

We would stay here again.

  • Liked — Nice breakfast included, and room was large enough to move around in.

The rooms in this two storey motel are very nicely decorated with dark wood furnishings. They are clean and very quiet. Unlike most hotels, the beds are outstanding. The high-speed wireless internet connection is reliable. They have a sizable indoor pool and a hot tub that we saw through the pool building windows but we didn't go into the pool building. They serve a nice, full complementary breakfast including waffles, eggs and sausage. They are located just three blocks from the freeway (I-15) with several fast food restaurants within walking distance. This motel is a great value.
