When we drove up, I was not impressed and felt rather disappointed. However, when we got to our room, I happily changed my mind. Wow!!! This is not your ordinary bargain motel. The bed reminded me of the one in the five-star resort where we stayed for our honeymoon. After a long day of driving, to slip into this bed was pure luxury. I felt more like we were at a guest home than a motel. The furniture was lovely; I was so tempted to load up the purple wing chairs to add to my own home. : )

Breakfast is served in a cottage behind the motel. Even that added to the coziness of our experience. Although the breakfast fare was rather typical, it tasted delicious, no doubt due to the graciousness with which it was served. The ladies there were warm, helpful, and friendly. Again, we felt like we were honored guests in someone's home.

When traveling again through Cedar City, I would definitely stay here. Why mess with the best?

Abbey Inn was a delight. The beds were very comfortable. They had non hotel furniture. The room was desinged by a local company with furniture that a person might like in their own home. The inn has a wonderful breakfast. (fresh eggs and waffles were on the menu the day we were there.). The breakfast is served in a house owned by Abbey Inn at the north end of their property. We were lucky in that we had the room at the end of the building (#1134) right by the house so we just walked out the door to breakfast.

We appreciate your review of the Abbey Inn. It is great to here your compliment on the design of the rooms as we strive to make the rooms very comfortable and a home away from home. Wendy, our designer from Boulevard Home Furnishings, does a great job in designing the rooms. Thank you for staying with us.

Stayed here for 3 nights and was happy... the rooms are a little dark and the bathroom looks a bit dated but it is very clean. The pool is average but is open until 11pm which is great after a long sightseeing day. Beds are comfortable, they have a guest laundry room which has detergent etc for sale and cost 75c for a wash and the same for a drier. The price is great for what you get, free breakfast as well. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for good value for money and cleanliness.

We stayed at the Abbey Inn for one night on our way to Zion Nat'l Park. It was one of the best budget hotels we have ever stayed in. We considered camping, but why would we, when we could stay in a clean, comfortable place (with breakfast) for such a reasonable price? Everyone was friendly and helpful, the room was immaculate, and the breakfast included eggs and sausage. The only drawback we could see was the lack of a good restaurant in town (but we were there on a Sunday evening).

Wow, what a great place to stay. After hiking Zion all day, we found this hotel in the tavel coupon guide for just $69 in Cedar City. Friendliest staff. The room was fanstastic. 2 queen beds with silk bedspreads, first class furniture, 42" flat screen TV, granite counter tops, Microwave and Frig, close to gas stations and restaurants. WiFi was good. This room was as nice as hotels I've stayed in that cost $200 a night. Full, hot breakfast is served in a house next to the property. Quiet and the bed was as confortable as one you'd find at a spa - like sleeping on a cloud. A real gem!!

Not just a great value - downright cheap! Fabulous rooms, great full breakfast, very helpful staff. For breakfats, we had to walk across the parking lot to what looked like a private residence. Inside were tables and some wonderful ladies cooking what you wanted - nice.

Nice, clean hotel. Parking outside our door was free. They have a gated separate pool/jacuzzi building with plenty of fluffy towels. The breakfast was so-so, the standard scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, or make your own waffles and was served in a small house nearby dedicated just for that purpose. We found the breakfast room crowded and small - but there was a tour bus full of older people eating at 7:00am so they could get on the road and that contributed to the crowding [and noise! People from Chicago apparently yell their conversations. ; ) ]. There is an IHop next door, that would be a better bet for a good breakfast. The room was quite nice, looked to be remodeled recently in a pseudo-Spanish mission (?) style. Nice TV. We stayed in another hotel on the other side of our trip (going up to Salt Lake City while we stayed here on the way back down) that cost a bit less but had a dedicated restaurant attached and that was a bit older. Kind of a toss-up here, it was a nice hotel room (the Abby) and very clean, with VERY comfortable beds, but not sure it was as generically friendly as the place on the other side of the highway. Would definitely recommend the Abby to older adults - there seemed to be quite a few there. There's also a laundry for patrons on-site, which is a godsend when traveling. All in all, a decent enough place to stop for the night.
