“Comfortable and quality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2014

The Hampton in Cedar city was very comfortable and all of the amenities were of quality. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was varied and everything was very clean. the room was a little on the small side, but for one person it was accommodating. I would stay here again.

We checked in after a LONG 12 hour drive. The prices were the most we spent over 6 days-$170 per night. The room was small but clean and the front desk staff was nice. However, when we used the toilet the first time it wouldn't flush. When the front desk was contacted they came to the room and showed us how to flush the toilet; push in and hold while pushing down--way too many instructions just to flush! The toilet worked until the next morning when it broke completely and we had to lift the tank lid to operate it. I discussed this with the assistant manager and she reduced our bill to $99. She made it right, but it was sort of frustrating.

Prices are very high. Poor service. The breakfast was so-so. We paid $170/night and asked multiple times for a rollaway bed. No one ever brought one. Other than that, the rooms were fine. For this category of hotel, I'd expect to pay closer to $80-100/night.

We have expectations when we select a hotel or restaurant that is part of a chain. Hampton Inns are usually friendly places with clean, adequately sized rooms, a nice Managers Reception in the evening, and breakfast in the morning. It is our go to place when we are looking for a place to just spend the night -- not a destination hotel for us but one that is a top over as we travel. This Hampton Inn was different.
The usually friendly staff was not attentive and really didn't seem to care that guests are to be treated as guests, not just people to stick in a room. The morning staff spent her whole time behind the counter either texting on her cell phone or looking things up on it. There was no Manager's Reception. Our room was the smallest room we have been in since our days in college, even European rooms are larger. This is the second Hampton Inn on the West side of the Mississippi that disappointed us.
All in all, we were disappointed and will reevaluate our choice of Hampton Inns as the place to stay when traveling.
If none of this is important to you, then the hotel might be OK for you, it wasn't for us.

Room Tip: There are many hotels within a fe blocks of this one. We suggest you select a different hotel.

This is a great hotel and I enjoyed a comfortable night's stay. It is just off I-15 on the south end of Cedar City. The area around is full of restaurants. There's a Chili's, Applebee's, Dickey's BBQ, Cafe Rio, and more. Many of them are within walking distance of the hotel.

The hotel is in great shape, seems very new and modern, and is very clean inside and out. The room isn't terribly large but has all one needs. A/C worked well, the bed was comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was nice enough.

I'll pass through here again and this'll be where I stay.

I travel for work and stay in a lot of Hampton's. I reserved five rooms for our crew, made sure they had fridges and upgraded one room to a suite. When we arrived we were told that we would not get fridges and microwaves because, unlike most Hampton's, this one only has six rooms with fridges. What?? The upgraded suite was just a ADA--not really an upgrade. The fridge thing is a HUGE deal when you work very long days and don't know when you'll get dinner so throwing a frozen meal in the microwave is necessary and an ice cold soda is heaven.. we got none of it!
The second day we were in town the desk was able to find a portable fridge for the nursing mother in our group who absolutely needed one in her room.
Best part--after all the drama at the front desk, I got into my small room and found a roll-away bed. I called the front desk and asked if I had the right room, they told me I did, put the bed in the hall--the bed sat there for three days.
There is also only one small elevator, the poor cleaning staff has to smash to get in it every day..they really need to add another one.
On the upside, my room was clean, just super small which made it so hard to work and the breakfast was nice.

I rely on the Hampton Inn brand for its consistency. The Cedar City Hampton is really a 3+ because it's a little rough around the edges. It has an odd location in a semi-residential area, and it was difficult to find due to road work next to the interstate (which isn't their fault, but just a head's up.). The check-in process was seamless, but the front desk clerk behaved oddly - sort of like she'd been up for 24 hours - a bit too brusque and impersonal for my taste. Our room was as reserved, and away from the elevator as requested. The room was clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast area was very busy and so a bit messy, but they did their best to keep up and refilled the food when necessary. Get your coffee from a Starbucks. One night stay only - won't stay here again, as there are too many other options available.
