“Good Clean Hotel with Pool & Breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

It was a nice place to stay. The rooms were nice and clean. They had an indoor and outdoor pool, however it was weird because the hotel is split by a road so to get from one area in the hotel to another you have to cross 4 lanes of traffic. Breakfast was good. Free parking.

Dear Sandra P,

We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our hotel and would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review. Having an indoor and outdoor pool does make it very convenient by allowing us to keep a pool open even during the winter. Our property is divided in two by a road, because we chose to expand. The next time that you are traveling through Cedar City, we hope that you choose to return to our hotel!

We stayed here for 4 days to attend the Utah Shakespeare Festival but will not stay here again. This is after at least 3 or 4 stays at this property over the past years since we go to the Festival every year. The front desk was just OK but certainly not friendly. Our room was just OK but the air conditioner was really loud and constantly blowing on the bed. I needed a shower cap and was directed to the local market to purchase one - market did not have this item so was redirected to another store. Annoying!!! Breakfast is OK - although many times various item were not available. Also, the tables were not cleaned appropriately, which led us to eating outside. Again, not really cleaned. Next year we have made reservations at another property and will not stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for rom facing Main Street - then no one is walking past your room to get to their room.

The beds were great, check in easy, free breakfast was pretty good. Bathrooms were very clean. The check in clerk was very helpful as we had to add an extra room at the last minute. It was funny that there was no coffee pot on the coffee pot stand but we don't drink coffee anyway.

Dear chrisp1004,

Thank you so much for such a fantastic review, and I am so happy to hear that you had a pleasant stay! We are glad to here that you enjoyed our pillow top mattresses! Our coffee makers are a little different, they are single serve and instead of using a coffee pot, you put your cup underneath and it will fill it up with the perfect amount of coffee.

We enjoyed our rooms which were clean and attractive Although we did not understand
the absence of an outlet by the mirrored counter outside the bathroom.
Breakfast choices were very good as well.
My one problem was that upon checking in our rooms were not adjoining which
had been a specific request as I was traveling with teen age grandchildren.
Luckily, it was mentioned that the rooms were nearby where upon I reminded that I
had specificaly requested adjoining rooms when making the reservations some weeks ago.
Chad was able to remedy this concern and all went well from that point. Thank You

Room Tip: Greaet Location for Shakespeare Festival attendance.

Past several years we have had excellent service, friendly employees who went out of their way to help us with special needs. NOT in 2014. We stayed for 3 days. The front desk staff (2 different people) were not friendly or welcoming. Our room had very poor lighting in general, plus we had to ask for a lightbulb for 1 lamp that didn't even have one when we checked in, and the bedside lamp had a short so it wouldn't stay on. (The lightbulb was left on the table -- not installed in the lamp.) We were not allowed to check in early because a room wasn't ready, even though we told them we would not go into the room until after the 2:00 play. The free breakfast was poorly stocked each morning (at different times). The eggs always empty, no jam on some days, tables counter were weren't wiped down regularly, and the cream cheese was not in a cooled dish. WORST of all, I came back to our room after brunch and before a 2:00 play one day. Our door was wide open but NO HOUSEKEEPER was in the room. I stood and waited for 2 or 3 minutes, then had to go looking for someone. THIS WAS A DEAL BREAKER! It's a shame too because this hotel is very close to the Shakespeare Festival theaters, has an excellent restaurant next to it, and another adjacent French bakery that makes a decent sandwich for lunch, and is close to the head of the rail trail you can walk or ride up the canyon. Management needs to make some big changes to get back to the standard they've had in the past.

Room Tip: I do not recommend staying here, but if you do, I think the rooms on the north side of the street (t...

We booked the Best Western Town and Country in Cedar City based on previous experience. We found it to be improved n many ways. The crisp service at the front desk remains the same. The desk clerk was quite helpful in selecting a restaurant since it was Sunday evening and most Cedar City restaurants were closed. Room furnishings have been upgraded and the complimentary breakfast was the best we have encountered in years. Our nine year old grandson rated the pool as perfect.

The room we had was very clean, no off odors or electronic problems. There were plenty of outlets for charging our electronics. The breakfast had enough variety to cover our dietary needs.

The TV remote had limited capability and required a browse and wait for the commercial to end method. It was the only drawback.
