Having lived in Little Rock for years, I had nearly decided outside of maybe the Capitol Hotel, there's really no truly excellent restaurants in town. There's plenty of good little cafe-like places to eat -- Sushi Cafe, Cafe Bosa Nova, etc. -- but no really good sit-down multi-course restaurants.
The location is not at all high-end, but they make up for it where it counts -- with the food. We each ended up having a 4 course meal and I would not change a thing. Everything was very well cooked, seasoned, and presented.
On top of this, Italian is one of my least favorite types of food. Even enjoying high-end places like Il Mulino in NYC, I could honestly take it or leave it. Yet, Vesuvio's food makes me give the entire category another look.
It was delicious and very memorable -- and reasonably priced as well.
