This is my favorite hotel in El Paso. It's both historic and classy. There may not be flat-screen hotels in every room but it makes up for that in character. I especially loved the bar, which has a unique Tiffany stained glass dome. The breakfast buffet is included with the price of the room and the food and service were both excellent. The hotel is in walking distance to bars and other attractions in the downtown area. It's all a safe area.

Room Tip: Check out the stained glass dome in the hotel bar.

Stayed here for business and was impressed with the location and reasonable rate.

The historical hotel is a bit dated but has character and charm.

Service was ok at the front desk but I think the ladies didn't speak great English and they also were training a new employee.

Overall a great spot for a business traveler. Would return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic treasure. It is a beautiful building. We had a very nice room. The hotel could use some updating to help it be as stately as it deserves. We had some issues with air conditioning as well but none the less a love stay and the bed was very comfy.

I am torn between giving this historical a rating of average and very good. I love the character of this old historical hotel. The room on the 7th floor was clean and had a great view of the city into Mexico. The Dome room was really spectacular. I good see this being quite the place in its day.
Unfortunately coming mid week meant the whole area surrounding was quiet and closed up. So we were left to eat at the restaurant. The food was average. The ambience was bad with no music and we were only one of two tables in the big restaurant. Our waiter was nice but new to the area. He was also too talkative (probably given to not having anyone in the restaurant). At the same time he was rushing us by trying to collect our plates too early. Strange. The desk clerk that checked us in was nice, but when I had asked for a recommendation for dinner was pretty unhelpful.
So as I read previous comments I can see other people complained about the lack of service. I think it could be improved upon. We did walk into the amazing dome room as we thought of having a drink and we were taking some pictures. The bar tender had no one else in the room and was on the phone. She didn't acknowledge as we walked in and so we walked right through. It wouldn't have taken much for us to stay and have a drink. Their loss.

Room Tip: We heard a great ghost story about the original owner's daughter being left at the alter and com...

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review. We truly appreciate your honesty. We are glad you enjoyed our Tiffany stained glass at the Dome Bar, it was built in 1912 and has seen the likes of many legends that have waled in to our Hotel, Pancho Villa, Amelia Earhart, Eleanor Roosevelt, Bob Dylan, U.S President Taft, Hoover, Nixon and Bush. In regards to the lack of customer service have been training and working with our staff polishing our service skills.

This is a charming hotel in downtown El Paso. I'm sure that it was gorgeous when it first opened. It now seems quite dated but still has character. The dome bar is beautiful but the drinks are overpriced. Our room had a view of Juarez. Ths room was clean but the bed was quite hard and the deadbolt didn't work. Still had a nice stay and would consider it again if the price was right.

IS located in Downtown El Paso. You can reach it from I10 or Loop 375. Nothing spectacular from outside, but God!!Once you go inside the revolving door, you are transported to 1912, when th hotel opened. Everything inside is nice, marble , nice decoration , nice woodwork in the arched entry ways and ceiling area. On the top of the bar you will see the best part of the decoration, (to my taste) the original dome builded along with the Hotel, a dome made of stained glass, a really impressive art work. As of today 31 jan 2014, the price for a room was $72 US Dollars. A really good price to stay in a historical landmark. As you enter the hotel straight from the front door, reach the bar and look to your right. In the column before you reach the bar, you will see a frame, that tell you all about the Hotel, as to include the bullets holes at the 10th floor courtesy of Pancho Villa.

Room Tip: I didn't stay in the Hotel, i was there for a Military Ball, but the place is really nice and we...

My husband and I stayed here for a wedding and loved the location of the hotel. It was directly across from the convention center and museum. You are also about 5 streets from the border into Juarez, which we walked over with friends.

Our room was a corner room with amazing views of Downtown. The pool is on the 10th floor, which you access through their very small fitness room. The pool was small but a nice amenity. The staff was so nice and made our stay comfortable. Our favorite thing about this hotel is the Dome Bar, which they are famous for!

Room Tip: Most of the time they will auto upgrade you, if they do, see if you can snag a corner room!
