Great atmosphere, food is always good, lots of choices. We've gone to dinner there with just the two of us and then we've gone with a party of 12. Fun and delicious every time. The secret is the wine store next door. Great selections and a great guy to help you make smart choices. Highly recommend.

Super inexpensive for incredible chef cuisine, and the menu changes slightly each month to keep things fresh. Along with little pizzas, their menu is comprised of their 'small plates'. These are high end cuisine items. Hub's fav is the beef filet with mashed potatoes and green beans with an incredible demi glaze, sometimes better than other times (last night it had a bit more fat than he likes), but consistent enough to order regularly. These are priced like tapas, but with more food on the plate, like a healthy appetizer for two. Usually I get the salad with apples and walnuts but, with it stacked high and covering the entire plate, I don't get it anymore because it fills me up too much and I can't enjoy more 'small plates' or glasses of wine. I should say that the wine machines they have there allow you to try an ounce, 3 oz or 5 oz of your pick of around 25 wines, if not more.

Plus, they have wine events that are fun, like the wine trail scavenger hunt at the beginning of the year, or the current event, their anniversary week, which can make everything cost even less than it already does. We were there last night and they had around 5 promos going on including 5 of their small plates for $5, 5 of their deserts for $5, 5 of their wines for $5 a glass and the best was some very expensive wines, that normally we would not buy because of price, at 1,3 and 5 oz prices. The 2009 Bryant Family vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, normally $470 a bottle, cost us $13 an ounce to taste, and we were happy to pay that to give it a try - yes, it was wonderful!

Here is the list of goodies from their anniversary email, which doesn't even list the 5 desert plates they reduced to $5 each -

1. $5 Sandwiches and Panini's from our lunch menu served Tuesday through Friday between 11:30am and 2pm. All sandwiches and panini's come with you choice of one of our house made sides and for only $5 this is a bargain lunch! You won't find a better $5 footlong sandwich or value menu in town.

2. 5 Small Plates just $5 each - we have selected the following small plate menu items to be offered at only $5 each for our anniversary:
*Avocado Eggrolls
*Fried Mac n'Cheese Balls
*Vegetable Napoleon
*Herb Marinated Pork Tenderloin
*Chicken Schnitzel

3. $5 Premium Wines By-The-Glass on the Enomatic Machines in The Cave... the selection currently includes the following, but is subject to change:
*Laetitia Estate Pinot Noir
*Numanthia Termes
*Smith and Hook Cabernet Sauvignon
*Davis Bynum Russian River Valley Chardonnay
*Chandon Brut or Brut Rose Sparkling Wine

4. Limited and Very Highly Rated Wines available for tasting on the Enomatic Machines in The Cave - these wines are limited to tasting only and not available for purchase in the Ventura Wine Co Retail Store. The per-ounce price on them may seem expensive, but we have not taken any mark-up. Instead we are offering these gems at our retail price plus tax (and as you will see below the wines are very expensive):
*2005 Solaia by Antinori - Rated 97 Points Wine Spectator and 93 Points Robert Parker - $292
*2010 Saxum Booker Vineyard Red Paso Robles (81%Syrah + 19% Mourvedre) rated 94-96 Points Robert Parker and 94 Points Wine Spectator - $99
*2009 Vina Cobos Volturno Marchiori Vineyard by Paul Hobbs in Argentina (Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec Blend) rated 98 Points Robert Parker and 94 Points Wine Spectator - $193
*2009 Bryant Family vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley - rated 96+ Points Robert Parker - $470

We have also received a six pack of the new 2009 release of Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley. You may recall that the 2008 vintage was a Wine Spectator Top 100 Wine of 2011 - Ranked #2. This new 2009 vintage was rated 93 Points by Wine Spectator and is extremely limited! It is available for purchase in the retail store while it lasts.

Food was good and is an important aspect to include in your time at this wine tasting, otherwise you would just guzzle a 1, 3 , or 5 ounce of wine and not as much fun.

Great food. Small plates, small prices. They change their menu every month and all the dishes are very exciting. Enomatic wine serving. Great wine shop attached with the best prices in the county.

Small plates are good to excellent with few misses. Fun selection of low-mid-price wines that you buy by the ounce. Always fun, regular customer.
