I would give it a 3 1/2 based on the excellent location of the hotel and the cleanliness of the room. It is an easy walk to the beach and downtown. Although it is close to the railway line, I was not bothered by it. The hotel has a nice pool and a "miniature" spa. The room was very clean and well appointed. We had a room with two queens and was surprised at the roominess. There is a table and chairs also and plenty of room to move around. The bathroom is small but clean and adequate. The complementary breakfast was complete with hot and cold items, beverages and make-your-own waffles, eggs and meat. It was more than sufficient. In room free wi-fi was very handy. On our second night, there was a noisy party going on somewhere close to our room and it was hard to sleep. It went on until around 3 am. We were surprised that the staff did not do anything about it.
On the whole, I would probably stay here again. The outside of the hotel really needs some updating. It looks like it had not had a coat of paint for a few decades. The room is the saving grace.More
