“Clean and Neat”

Drove through while killing time waiting for cultural center to open. If was very pretty, neat water areas for kids to play and families to picnic... No alcohol allowed so we didn't see any hard core parties going on

Nice wide, crushed gravel trails. Natural beauty to explore. Several trails to the natural springs. Very informative nature center. Cool viewing place for bison. No crowds or loud tourists. Overall, very good experience!

“Wonderful Experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013

We visited the nature center while we were camping in the Buckhorn part of this park. The lake was awesome. First night setting up we seen scorpions (Not Poisonous) all over the place. Next morning sitting by the camp fire. A huge black and tan tarantula walked by. Seen a couple snakes. The lake was awesome for fishing and camping with electricity and water at each spot. If you have Access pass you can camp for $10 a night with electric and water, super clean bathrooms with showers. While there, you can check out the live Bison in the recreational center. Along with a nature center, with lots of trails and springs. Little Niagara was great for swimming. And Free. Also visit Turner Falls while your there. It really is a wonderful experience.

“Not what we were expecting”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013

We went here the day after going to Turner Falls and were all terribly disappointed. There really wasn't river walking and both of the large swimming holes were too crowded to even get close to. It was also difficult to find exactly where you would want to get in the river to play at any area. The one very small trek we did make into the river didn't last even 15 minutes....we will not go back...too crowded and just not the kind of activity we were hoping for. I can say that it was free, so if you don't mind dealing with the crowds it's ok.

“Beautiful grounds, lots of fun, great place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013

Our family loves Chickasaw National Recreation Area! It has a place for small kids to play in the water where the water is two feet deep or less, but also has places for bigger kids to jump off of the falls. We camped there and went to listen to the Ranger talk about the park. It was very informative and great for the kids to learn about as well. The Nature Center is very nice, there are many walking trails and beautiful scenery. If you are a nature lover, this place is for you!
