The park is really beautiful and quiet. There are picnic areas, trails, and anything else you would expect to find in a park. This place is also well maintained which is a huge plus.

We just drove through all of the Recreation Area and due to the temperature, we didn't get outside of our vehicle. It's such a beautiful place to just sit and relax.

Great hikes on well maintained trails. The fall colors are amazing and the park is calmer and quieter this time of year.

Quiet, peaceful, and cool in the trees (even in summer). Plenty of walking trails, picnic areas, places to sit on a blanket and read with rushing creek sounds in the background, an interesting little nature center, the Lincoln Bridge over the Travertine Creek as a backdrop for photos, now famous enough to appear on an American the Beautiful quarter. All good.

We have been particularly enamored with the older part of the park, once the Platt National Park. We first camped there in 1971 and have been coming back for years. Great hiking, history and a great staff. Check it out!
