We ate a Saturday night dinner here, and enjoyed ourselves. We didn't expect the restaurant to be so busy (we had a 40-45 minute wait at 7:30pm), so make a reservation if you can. Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided great service. The biggest downside was the loud, drunken lady at a nearby table with a large group (12-ish or so people total) that decided to start cursing, throw her chair down, drop f-bombs, etc. repeatedly. The manager went to talk to her, but it took several complaints and a mom/pre-teen child leaving before they asked her to leave.

I'd recommend the mac & cheese, and the 50-50 meatloaf!

Everything tastes great and is clean. Staff is friendly! Make sure your clock isn't five minutes off for reservations counter though. Was backed up a bit because of there clocks.

We ate dinner in the Springs Restaurant while staying at the Artesian Hotel. The food was really good, but the service was not great.

First, the good. We shared a house salad. It was really good, with crumbled bacon and hard boiled eggs, and just the right sized portion. We both had the chicken fried steak. It was delicious. I had it as it comes, with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. It is served with bacon cream gravy. I've never had it with bacon before. So good. The potatoes were a bit dry, but still really tasty. My husband had the CFS as well, but he ordered his with fries and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was wonderful. It was made with bacon (there's a theme here) and some kind of spiciness (jalapeno, maybe). I would order it again.

Now for the bad. It was very crowded, and our server had a large group she was handling, aside from all the other tables she had. It took forever for the server to even come by to great us. She seemed so distracted by her other customers, she barely spoke to us. She seemed like she couldn't even take the time to allow us to ask questions. When she brought the food she practically threw the food on the table as she blew by us. She didn't even stop long enough for my husband to ask ketchup. His food sat there getting cold while he tried to find her. She finally came whizzing back by on her way to another table and he was able to wave his arms and get her attention. He also wanted to ask for some additional gravy, but she took off so fast, he couldn't even get the words out. She finally came back with one tiny little container (like they put salad dressing in) of ketchup. Not enough for his, by now cold, fries. Never did get a chance to ask for gravy.

We walked in from the outside, and stood there expecting to be seated. The place was empty except one table. I saw the hostess across the room leaned against her stand watching us. I expected she would grab some menus and come to us but she didn't budge. So we crossed the room to her and she led us to a table back by where we were to begin with. We felt like her attitude could be better. She said she would get a kids menu for us, but never did. Then it took a very long time to get our drinks. We asked for the kids menu and she said they don't have any. We told her the hostess offered one. She came back and said the manager would have to print one. It took a long time to get to order, and even longer for the food. But it was very good, I must say. The prices were okay too.
