“Great BBQ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2011

We re-visited this little hideaway in Willcox, AZ and were certainly not disappointed, again ! Rodney served up his delicious, tender pork, with the trimmings .. can't be beat. If you don't give him a try, you are really missing a great meal, and Rodney himself !

“BEST HOT WINGS IN THE LAND!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2010

My wife and I ALWAYS make Rodney's a stop on our driving trips. His hot wings are the best, but definitely not for the meek. Everything is homemade from scratch. Don't let the small building, or Rodney fool you. Before moving to Willcox he could be found cooking for the elite and being written about in major food and restaurant publications. Now he just wants a simpler life, doing what he truly enjoys... Preparing KICK A** BBQ!

“Rodneys BBQ, Willcox, AZ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 March 2009

We recently had the wonderful experience of "finding" this BBQ place in Willcox. Had planned on getting a carry-out from another eatery, but literally ran into Rodney in front of his restaurant. ALL the food was perfectly delicious, and his special sauce on the pork was outstanding ... we will definitely go back again.

“Great Food - Take it to Go!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 March 2009

I read about Rodney's in Frommer's. You order your meal at Rodney's shack. He will serve it to you next door at the saloon (I found the locals to be less than friendly so I left) or he will serve your meal to you on the other side of his shack in a building that houses several long family-style tables with plastic table cloths. This particular area doesn't look as if the health dept has inspected it in years, but it's full of character, and food isn't actually being prepared here. Rodney himself is a true gem, a very kind, gentle soul, and was a pleasure to speak with. If the dining area makes you uncomfortable, there's an outdoor table or two, and the Railroad Park is across the street. My meal was served on a paper plate and it was excellent. Fresh in every sense. Cheap. Prepared with great care.

“Food fine, saloon sucks”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2008

We were sent to Rodney's by the Willcox Chamber of Commerce for a quick lunch on a day trip out of Tucson. He doesn't have a liquor license, so if you want a beer you need to go next door to the local saloon to drink and he will serve you there. We did, and the locals were, how to say this politely, less than welcoming. It was a fairly unpleasant experience, I wrote to the chamber, and they never responded. Rodney himself seems to be a very sweet man, and the food was fine, just don't go next door.
