“Cute and fun Place”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

This was pretty cool. The musket and 6lb cannon demo's were very cool and the sunken ship exhibit was informative and educational. The colonial camp was fun and the staff made it as interactive as they could. It really made you look back and think of how the soldiers lived back in those days while defending their beliefs. The farm was pretty fun too. I recommend as part of the ticket combo with historic Jamestown. Nice little addition.

“great”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

They had a very nice museum, but it looks like they are renovating and will have a very large new museum soon. would like to return to see this. Enjoyed touring the area. Enjoyed the demonstration with loading and firing the cannons and then we saw the surgeon's area. Learned a lot of facts I never knew. Would return.

“Great History”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

The Yorktown Victory Center is a nice place to visit to learn about the Siege on Yorktown that ended the American Revolution. Outside at the military encampment, you will learn about 18th century medicine, how the troops set up camp, what they ate, and how to fire a muskett and cannon. There is also a farm where you'll learn about cuisine in the 1700's and tobacco production. Inside is a nice museum describing the Yorktown campaign and the major players involved. Worth seeing for the experience of the end of Colonial America.

“Great Place to Visit”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

The Yorktown Victory Center is a great place to gain more knowledge about Yorktown and what happened years ago. The movie they present is told through a letter written by a seasoned solider to his wife. It makes it seem real, because, I am an Army Wife and I lived story telling in that manner during Iraq and Afghanistan. After you see the inside museum, you go outside to see a living recreation of historical Yorktown. You see everything from the weapons, to the medical, to the tent living, to the farm and how the women lived while the men were gone. The nice part, is anything you don't understand, there is some one there to answer your questions!

They do offer a military discount, however, you have to buy the tickets at MWR prior to your visit, and if you are just going for one day, that makes it inconvenient. We ended up paying full price. I wish they would let you show your ID and get the discount at the Center.

“Museum and more”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

Very nice museum about the Yorktown area. Indoor displays, an outdoor military encampment, and a farm. Yorktown shuttle runs out there, but be back at least 20 minutes before the last shuttle time or you'll get left behind, and it's a long walk back to the battlefield center!
