This is very well done, especially considering the fact that they are in the midst of a huge renovation project. Sylvia, at the reception dest was wonderful! She was extremely helpful.
The reenactment section was absolutely excellent! The costumed were very knowledgeable and helpful. There was something there for everyone.
The farm was interesting and well laid out.
If you like history, especially of the Revolutionary War period, this is definitely the place for you!

“Let's not sugar coat it ... Wait until the renovations are done”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

After the Jamestown Settlement this was an extreme let down!! The encampment was nice (small send lacking detail) and the staff was helpful, but the farm ... Well, the farm STUNK!! The construction of the new buildings DEFINITELY impacts this exhibit ... There is no sugar coating it .. It's not worth it until the construction is complete ... SORRY ...

“Falls Short of Other Local Historic Landmarks”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

Yorktown was our last historic stop after visiting Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown. It certainly was a disappointment. The battlefield area was small and poorly staffed. The farm was even less impressive. They are under construction and seem to be enlarging the grounds/buildings, which may improve the attraction. We were under the false impression that this included the Yorktown Battlefield, which it did not. We would probably skip this in the future.

“Excellent Staff”

The people at the military encampment and in the village were great. The whole thing is very informative and definitely worth visiting. It will be even better once the construction is finished.

Enjoyed the actors portraying soldiers, shooting the gun and canon were fun. The gruesomeness of the medical done on soldiers was fabulous. The museum was interesting, the movie was very informative. Well worth a visit
